  • So here is another update now that I found a laptop to play with, cause I was away from the city for a while - summer calling

Bodywork-wise, some work on the door was done, and it is getting there

Grinded down this upper trunk side

    Window trim rivet holes filled

    And then grinded down

    Mr Akis is NOT joking.

    Minimum work for the painter

    More welding

    Finally this

    Received more work

An experienced hand can never lie

    Almost done before sanding

Time for the paint team to start playing some ball

    Sanded

    More to come . . .

    Cheers

    Mike

Why ? Is it obligatory to lose Quattro if I chose to keep it ?

        • Hello all.

I have some interesting progress to show you.

Let's begin with the bodywork being finished earlier this week

          Rear passenger door ready

And all of the damaged spots the car had through the years, were fixed

Door trims and door blades removed too, to be prep'd

Then I got to drive the car - LoL

          Bye bye ramp

Time to meet the MAHA lifter

          Up it goes

For work to be finished on the arches and underbody

          Everything Zinc'd

          Seam sealed

And then a base colour coat was given

          Boot hinges were removed too

And car was left to rest here

So as to put some work on the removed parts

          Final touches

And the line-up for paint booth was starting to grow up rapidly

          More sanding and prepping

Primer landed on the first parts

Temp was not random too - LoL

          So painting came smoothly

          ClearCoating

Some first pics of the bumper-sideskirts parts

          The man in charge

          Love the reflections

          Even without ANY polishing

          Mooooaaar parts

          Primered

          And finished

Coming up in a while, some videos of the whole process.

          Cheers

          Mike

                  • Really like this build, but i really think you fucked up that rear bumper with those crazy holes. That being said, cant wait to see everything mounted back in place

I accept your being honest, really do. But I would do them again without a second thought

                      • you should cut the bumper entirely and do a massive diffuser!

                            • I'd seen progress shots here and there on Audizine and was thrilled to find this build thread! Some things are a little over the top for my taste, but I can appreciate the work going into this car.

With the B7 RS4 being my favorite Audi body style you've got me hooked! I really admire the quality of work going into the conversion. You can tell these guys take a lot of pride in what they're doing!

That wide body packed with a 2JZGTE is a great recipe for a uniquely awesome car! I wouldn't mind that combination over a showroom stock RS4 at all!
