The Amazing Race: Fitness Thread / Work-Out Thread
Holy shit that's what a medium looks like on you?!
I'm in between large and XL.
Im always XL. will most likely always be there too. back maybe 10 years ago I did a crazy cut and was able to fit into a L. That didnt last long once I started lifting heavy again lol
End of Feb last year when I started my new job in the city I had a goal of going to the gym every morning and to reach 88kg by the end of the year.
I started with the weight of 82kg.
I did reach my goal and I'm now hovering between 88-89kg. I'm 6' 3 or 4"(188cm)
I only spend 20-30mins in the gym 5 days per week on the way to work in the morning, so I'm pretty happy to reach that goal.
The aim now is to maintain that weight and get better muscle definition.

Not sure if I should take that as a compliment. lol. Got to remember I'm short man. I'm only 5'8"
Medium Ralph Lauren Polo T's fit me pretty good. Larges are okay but a little baggy in the stomach area. Really a medium is a little tight in the shoulders, but they fit damn good everywhere else.
I'm kinda in-between a large and medium though for the most part and my waist is a 33-34 depending on the jeans and cut of the jeans.
if "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" doesnt include being able to buy a huge veiny motherfucker then the declaration of independence isnt worth the hemp it was written on.

Anyone know a good way to calculate body fat percentage? I did some google search shit and I'm not really sure if I believe what I read.
Anyways, I've got 4 months until I go on a cruise and just because, I want to try to get as cut as possible. Since skiing season is over and I'm not always hurt anymore, I'll really be hitting the gym hard and changing my diet to cut back on carbs.
After doing some research here is what I decided I am going to do:
2000 calorie daily limit.
Breakfast:
1 1/4 cup liquid egg whites.
1 piece Wheat Toast
On days I lift (Mon, Weds, Fri) I'll also have a protein shake. (ON Gold Standard whey with 14 oz Skim Milk)
Snack 1 - Banana
Snack 2 - Can of Albcore Tuna
Lunch/dinner - Still trying to figure this out...Right now I eat PB+J sandwiches but I really want to cut carbs more so I think I'll go to huge salads with fat free dressing. Also I'll have an apple, and some special K crackers that are delish.
Also, I'll probably start incorperating some chicken breast into my diet as well. I read online a good intake ratio is is 40% protien 40% carbs and 20% fats.
If anyone else wants to chime in what else would be good, I'm all ears.
no way is really that accurate short of a DEXA scan or whatever
On week 4 of Madcow 5x5 intermediate. Next week it starts to get passed all my current max lifts. Just got home from the grocery store with a grip of good foods

Chicken breast and sweet potatoes are going to be the easiest meal to make, and to keep at that ratio you stated, also know the difference between simple and complex carbs

block of tofu with some sort of fat free dipping sauce is good. some are better drained.
Hatchbacks, wagons... It's NOT all the same. You want in? Don't get a mazda 3, get a mazda 6 wagon. Don't get a wrx get a legacy wagon. and theres a reason the A3 isn't called the A3 avant... Scion does not make a wagon it makes a weird van, but no wagons
I would go with quinoa over tofu only because the soy proteins are a bit different
I was suggesting tofu as a low carb option rather than for protein. if he's trying to cut carbs tofu would be better than quinoa.
