  • Skip the hydroxy cut and just eat healthy while working out. Don't focus on your weight, just focus on being healthy and reaching your physical goals. Your weight will fall in line

Good to see you're making the move to a healthy lifestyle.

First off, I'm going to say avoid Hydroxy cut. With proper dieting and exercise you won't need it and although I've never taken it nor do I plan on it, I have read a lot of mixed reviews on whether it works or not. I recommend you do some research on it to see if it's safe/worth spending money on it.

Second, whether you do or don't take Hydroxy Cut it never hurts to drink whey protein. I'd recommend eating a nutritious/high protein meal after exercising because it will yield the same results but if you don't have time to cook something up, a protein shake is a quick and easy alternative. Also that brand Optimum Nutrition is a great company and I support a lot of their products.

So now that all that stuff is out of the way I'm going to say what I think you should do given the info you provided. Don't bother with Hydroxy Cut and focus on your diet. Dieting is without a doubt the most important part of getting results. Count your calories, fats, protein, etc and make sure that you're hitting the numbers you need to meet the goals you're looking for. Then in the gym make sure you're going hard and working up a sweat and putting in max effort, there's no reason to go lift if you're only going to do a few half assed exercises. You have to put in the work to get the results.

And I'm going to leave it at that for now, do you mind providing you're weight and some more specific on where you're at (like current exercise level, body weight, any previous sports you played)? Also I think there is someone on here that has experience with personal training so they will be able to provide more help.

      EDIT:

      • Okay well Ill stay away from the hydroxy cut. And if the personal trainer in here sees this, could you message me please? Right now I'm about 6'1" and around 240. I would like to get down between 200-225. After Im done cutting, I would like to start to bulk. Do you have any suggestions as to good protein to take in?

Are you asking for a brand of protein shake or are you asking what are good sources of protein? I'll just answer both. A good brand is Optimum Nutrition, they have a lot of flavors at a good price. As for good sources of protein, fish/chicken/beef are the easiest ways to get a lot. Nuts (almonds and peanuts) are pretty good as well and they're good for your heart. Chocolate milk is another easy way. But eating healthy is more than just getting a lot of protein. You're going to need to check your carb, calorie, and fat intake and adjust them to suit your goals.

My diet during the summer was this:
Breakfast- Egg whites, chocolate milk, whole grain toast w/ peanut butter
Pre-lift Snack- Peanut butter and jelly, almonds and pre workout drink
          During Lift-Water
Post lift- Grilled chicken and rice or Peanut butter and almonds with chocolate milk and fruit or my protein shake and PB& J or a pepperoni sandwich on whole grain bread
Snacks throughout the day- Protein bars, fruits, peanuts, almonds, raw vegetables, Cliff Bars, Nature Valley bars
Dinner- Whatever we made for dinner that night
Supplements- Fish Oil and a multi vitamin

This worked for my goals (stay lean while adding mass). It wasn't the best diet, but I've definitely seen results. I would have to eat way more than I did if I wanted to pack on serious size, but I don't since I'm still playing baseball. • No new pics here but I've dropped a few more pounds and got a gym membership.

Lift Monday, Weds, and Fri and do cardio Tuesday and Thursday. I also run 2 miles after each lift day.

I'm now 188. I weigh less than I did when I was a senior in high school. yeahfuckyeah.gif

              The Kia has been parted.

Hatchbacks, wagons... It's NOT all the same. You want in? Don't get a mazda 3, get a mazda 6 wagon. Don't get a wrx get a legacy wagon. and theres a reason the A3 isn't called the A3 avant... Scion does not make a wagon it makes a weird van, but no wagons

                Sincerely,

                • Cool thread. I was around 165 last year sitting at 5'10. I haven't lifted since and I'm back to 150. I'm still extremely athletic in terms of a daily routine, volleyball and such but I recently decided to lift again.
My bench went from 225 max to around 185, how embarrassing...
I might come back from time to time just to post progress too, seems fun.

                  • 5 weeks of being back into the gym. Shooting for 175ish by spring time.

Best shape I've even been in. Waist is a 33-34. Keep a pretty strict diet and the only thing I take Is Gold Standard Whey Protein.
