Thanks Paul, sent you an inbox!

Drove Anja the furthest I had driven and the fastest constant speed as well. Drove about a 260km round trip up to my grandparents at around 100km/h. However, the trip was not as smooth as I had hoped. There is definitely a massive flat spot and the pulling to the left was crazy. My arm was actually sore from keeping the wheels steady.

My plan is to get her up on axle stands tomorrow night and see if anything is bent up the front end. If there is, then replace that component. If there isn't anything then I'll be ordering the necessary parts from CIP1.

Replacement ball joints (upper and lower) and tie rod ends. I'm hoping I can get the outer tie rod ends off as they're supposedly seized. That'll be tomorrow night.

Either way I'll have to have the problems sorted before I drive over to Melbourne. I have a month.

I went out and took a look at the front beam tonight. Couldn't see anything bent, then noticed the ball joint was around the wrong way. Need to take it for a drive around the block but up and down the drive way it didn't steer go straight to the other side.

In saying that though, the front tie rods are still seized. That's the next thing to sort out now.

So, adjusted the ball joint last night.

Still pulls to the left. Just gonna live with it. Now it is time to focus on servicing the engine.

I was a little bummed about not fixing the camber up the front so I decided I'd pull a few things apart. The head unit and front door speakers actually popped the other day, so ripped the door cards off and the unit out.

There seems to be a fair amount of unnecessary wiring now so I am going to rip that all out in the next couple of days too.

Unfortunately taking the passenger side door card off I was greeted by a dodgy rust repair and, well, the rust is still there it has just been bogged over.

So I am a little annoyed to say the least. Being told that all the rust had been fixed and then to find this, yay. Anyway, I am going to leave the door cards off until I decide what to do about the door, the drivers side is fine, it is just the passenger side that is effected.

I bought new seat covers a week or two ago and figured I'd actually install them. So now my front seats are black. Actually, I was quite surprised when I took the passenger seat cover off and was greeted by a black high back.

I finally got around to putting the Lowly Gentleman clothing tag on the rear view mirror in Anja as well as placing a S|W windshield banner on. She doesn't deserve the banner just yet, but I was bored and thought what the heck.

Oh, and one last thing, my VintageSpeed Exhaust rocked up yesterday but didn't get delivered. Instead I received a letter today letting me know that the parcel was available for pick up from the post office around the corner during business hours. They didn't even attempt to deliver it.

Took her out for her first wash last night. Didn't get any photos but the paint looks minty fresh when wet. Guess it showed me what could be.

This week I need to book her in for a service and tune. The flat spot is getting worse. Such is life.

Then I need to sort out the sound system for the 12+ hour drive to Melbourne.

She went back up on axle stands tonight. Got the exhaust and heater boxes out ready for the new VintageSpeed exhaust.

              IMG_0829 by sebastienpeek, on Flickr

Old exhaust off and put to the side. Unfortunately the heater boxes were welded on to the extractors, so I just took the whole lot off at once.

Looking good Seb! So will you still have a heater with the new extractors? I'm an aircooled noob

                  Thanks Anth!

I won't have any heaters unfortunately, but I had the same setup in Zelda and I basically just put another layer on. Then again, Melbourne weather is in a realm of its own.

I got the exhaust all hooked up in the nick of time, just got her back in the garage before it started to pour down with rain.

                    New exhaust. So purdy.

Now I just need to sort out the drums before the major service on Monday and she's done.

Went to get the drums off the transaxle this evening that they're attached too and had zero luck. The socket was missing and we couldn't get the wheels to stop spinning.

Hopefully that is organised during the week and worst comes to worst, I'll have to do it after I get Anja serviced on Monday.

Meanwhile, I should probably go for a spin in Anja and get some sound recordings of the new exhaust. The tone isn't as nice as the one I had on Zelda, but I would suggest that is due to the fact that they're not EQL headers. Fingers crossed VintageSpeed release a EQL header setup that bolts up to the muffler and I can get that when they do.

Regardless, I will get a recording of what she sounds like shortly. Will put the GoPro microphone to the test!

Don't expect much from the GoPro mic. In my experience they're awful

If you listen you can hear a knocking noise. Seem to have diagnosed it, looks like it is the fan belt.

So, took Anja for a drive last night and the hesitation was gone! Must have been just not enough back pressure or something.

Anyway, was driving along and heard a rattle, thought nothing of it because it disappeared pretty quickly and then the hesitation was back. Yep, a bolt. Unfortunately it was the bung nut for the 02 sensor that blocks it off.

Hopefully I can pick one up tonight on my way home from work and can tighten it properly.

But your wagon is so good!

In other news, picked up the sensor bung and installed it. Now no exhaust leak.
Still have some hesitation but only when she's warmed up. I have a feeling it will be old plugs and potentially something more disastrous.

Will see what is said on Monday when she goes in for a major service.
