is the newer front end considered a gc8 or something? im not too fond of subarus but ive done a little research before. i think the newer style front end would look gangster on this car. especially with the custom tail/wing

there are a couple styles of updated front ends, one being 97 and up oem impreza, another being 97 and up impreza 2.5rs usdm front and last which your thinking of is the the jdm gc8 ver6 front end. i would love the ver 6 but they go for too much money so for now ill probably just to the plain ol' 97 and up oem which is still alot better imo.

went to the junkyard and scored some goodies, 97 impreza hood and grill. i order the new style headlights as well.

ill probably leave my oem bumper for now since i think it looks decent as it is and once i make a lip for it it should improve
small peices i needed for the interior

since subaru puts the control for cruise control on the stock steering wheel i lost cruise when i put on my momo personally i like cruise control for long trips so i decided to mount the controller on the column.
before:

soldered up a wirring harness for it with factory plugs and stuck in power for my horn even

and after! works perfect too !

and main reason i haven't tore into my car yet is cause ive been waiting until my roomate gets his wrx back together. i need to learn better photography skills

Thanks a lot man! I plan on rawing the hood as well and building a hood scoop or custom vents. Trying to decide if I wanna upgrade to the 97 and newer front end tho first with new headlights/grill and hood. Thanks again tho !

Our shop definitely works out good for a cheap place to live and build cars. for us only being 20 people are always surprised when they come over.

welp finally got the wing ive been building mostly finished now im gonna start on the hood.

looks savage and i love how it turned out, the last corner pieces were by far the hardest!

an no my taillights are not blacked out just looks that way for some reason

Real RS's have been done before to gc impreza's, and it looks amazing.

like i said tho, i cant afford to throw down 1500 at least on a set of genuine rs's right now. nor do i really want to for the purpose of this build. no offense to you tho just saying...im still looking just throwing out an option i have

literally this thread only made me want one of these old school subies. looks great so far man!

on another thought i cant find any wheels that's why i haven't bought any yet. im not the hugest fan of replica wheels but im also not looking to spend alot on wheels right now when i could save money and put it towards making the car drive/perform better.
with that said what do you guys think of these reps. ive seen them in person and they're not bad.
specs -17x8.5 30et 2.25"lip/ 19lbs each $570 bucks for set .....wish they were 9" wide if i got these i would probably run 205/40 for a tiny bit of stretch to help run less camber in front.
