Stoked to see some more Utah guys on here. Always loved the gc/gm chassis. Excited to see what happens with it.

What kind of ej22 is it?

Is it the plain old NA one out of the legacy, or what?

Seems pretty cool so far. I like the OEM+ thing that's going on so far.

yeh back when i had my wrx i loved it but for some reason i just prefer cars with a lttle more age and character. the 510 will be a major project but cant wait for it.

thanks! i guess dgaf wouldnt be the right term but since i got this car in such a weird way and it was basically free after all said and done (long story) i wanted to build it with a kind of 'no care' attitude and see what i ended up with.
Same here, love the STI but I dream of a 510.

been pretty busy working on the car since im currently self imployed. managed to get my hands on an ej22 for 50 bucks !!

it had been sitting for about 3 years in a shed but had oil in it seemed decent for 50 bucks .
dirty at first and still connected to an auto tranny i wasnt going to use

so i spent some time cleaning her up a bit and broke it apart. the timing belt and water pump looked to have been previously replaced so that's good for maintenance terms.

dont mind my Datsun 510 in the background thats a future project

and surprisingly the cylinders still had hatch marks on them, valves were dirty but straight and not too much carbon build up

and.....the not so good. apparently one of the spark plugs had not been tightened all the way so water had gotten in and sat in the cylinder leaving some small corrosion luckily not too bad tho piston still slides good.

my new drilled and slotted rotors came today also! Hart Brakes for 02 wrx

rotors pair with these 02 wrx calipers i got for free with Stoptech SS lines and Stoptech pads. i rebuilt them and ground down the casting marks on the front ones to make them smoother and painted them with ceramic caliper paint. threw some stickers on them for the time being.

i also gutted the dirty worn out interor to get to the nasty smelly carpet that needed a good cleaning and possible color change.

    some more goodies came also

got these to upgrade the outdated green subaru dash lighting, t10 leds for the hvac controls and t5 for the gauge cluster

before, one of the hvac bulbs was dead

after... i ordered more white leds for the hvac controls too i think i like them better, also painted inside of cluster charcoal grey to modernize it a lil

thats it for now waiting on more parts to come

started a topic The dgaf build of a Subaru

The dgaf build of a Subaru

In a series of odd and unfortunate events i ended up with this beaut of a car. a 95 subaru impreza coupe. Definitely not the first car people think of when the word stance pops up since most people turn these into track cars, ive decided to go a different route...

Quite the elaborate story how i got this car but short story is i was home for the holidays in N. Idaho when i totaled my 02 WRX after i hit a telephone pole. 1000 miles from my home with a totaled car i was desperate for a solution so i ended up trading my WRX off for this Impreza+1600 cash on his end +i kept my sub/amp/oem mats+he threw in a brand new Kicker sub/amp combo.
IN my current situation i figured it was the best i was going to get in short notice. :yapyap: Anyways here's the car :

205k on stock 1.8L burning oil runs good just slow as .....!
5spd shifted good clutch feels strong
air box hacked for more air flow? ghetto
dirty ripped tan interior, no power but did have ac and cruise.
    AWD
4 wheel disc brakes a bonus
    cut springs
black roof painted with witches broom/faded paint
    OBS hood scoop
body is good other than drivers door 0 rust

after putting 3000 miles on it a month the little car really grew on me, even with cut springs it's a lot more responsive then my wrx in the corners and i liked the small size better plus cheaper to own/ maintenance.

Future Plans are to build the coolest car i can with least amount of money, this is kind of a dgaf build :
    ej22 or ej22/ej25 hybrid swap
    exhaust
    wheels
    coilovers
    wrx calipers/rotors
    seats/interior work
    stereo
    custom sheet metal work
    on so :
Working...
