    And this lovely thing

New things are on the way. Stay tuned.

    • Update Time

Went shopping at a store I like a lot, cause there was work to be done

Went to my garage and saw my bumper missing . . .

Here it is, next to the daily, that went 245 wide, and is also hosting my old exhaust - hahaha, more to come for it as well

Looking behind the rings, which will not go back on the car this time

      Brought it out for a ride . . . in the garage alley . . . lol

off went the fender, first time since factory

      Hmmm...not looking bad

Instantly, I spotted weight that had to be removed

      bye bye

Moving to the driver's side where the sideskirt would be removed, and door blades reinstalled

      before

      after

Wheel removed after some time now

      Let's work

WorkShop of my own - hehe

      The daily giving a hand

I just couldnt stand watching this like that, after the fender removal

Years of road grime cant be fixed in an hour, but it got improved significantly

      bye bye wheel arches

Time to pack things and put it back to sleep for today

Watch this space. More to come guys

      • So today I received yet another box for my project

Inside it, was this piece of the puzzle

With a nice aluminium matte finish which I didnt want to ruin by painting it,

So I opted for Vinyl wrapping it in Glossy Black by Oracle, a great material to work with, much better than the 3M one I had tested in the past

        Removed the frame

Applied the vinyl with the heat gun

Sometime later, it was ready, and looking great

This badge will be removed of course

I also have updates from the other orders.

        Stay tuned, more to come.

        Cheers

            • So, did I mention I also got a front bumper ?

Well in case I did not, here it is . It arrived ,and I have some photos to show you guys.

              in perfect shape really

I couldnt resist throwing it on to see how it would look.
Not sitting properly yet, as it needs trimming to clear the IC pipes.

(excuse 2 or 3 iphone pics, the excitement was huge - LoL)

              Just for fun.

              Holy Fatness

And then I also threw the mask on to see how it would look . . .

Cant believe it is all coming together . . .

              Love it.

              Cheers guys

              • Well this update is very exciting. At least for me it was.

                I bought some new things . . .

                Here they are

What do you mean these arent exciting enough . . . hm . . . hmmmm...

                Okay, another attempt . . . how about these . . .

Yeap. OEM RS4 FatNess comin' right up for dat ass

                Part numbers

                Some close-ups

Cant believe I took these. Really cant, haha.

They were too big to fit inside the Golf, so the Stealership's VW Caddy brought them to me

So if that wasnt enough, I decided to throw on the front fenders to see at last how they would look . . .

                OEM RS4 FENDER > 245 on 9,5s

                "Where did my wheel go"

                Other side

                Epic WideNess

                LoL Wheel

                Closed the hood

It was already good with no adjustments

                not much needed

Poor IC, you look so small

Like pieces of a puzzle coming together

                That's it for now guys

                Hope you liked it

                Cheers

                  • So another box arrived today.

It was some time ago that I had ordered this one.

So here I was with some other beauties when the box arrived

                    I love this car

So time to open the box

                    Some detailing products

                    Some installation products

                    What could it be . . .

                    Hello Custom Lexan Window Kit

                    Rear Door Windows

Out of focus Front door Windows

                    And the nicest Rear Windscreen

This will be fitted once the oem one goes out for the rear fenders to be cut.

                    Cheers, more to come.

                        • So. A lot happened today.

I thought it would be good to try installing the windows.

The door ones which needed no expert in removing them. The thing is this though. I knew it would take long, even though I can remove a door card and the window frame, almost with my eyes closed, but not THAT long. The reason it took so long is this: every window (glass) has one (or two in the front) glued plastic mount points, that allow them to be mounted on the window regulator. These pieces are A PAIN IN THE WHAT WHAT IN THE BUTT to be removed. if you are lucky enough, they will not brake. If they do get broken, all you have to do is buy them new, part number is written on them. Oh wait. It is writte, but you CANT buy them. My friend at the stealership told me that they are sold WITH the whole glass. Epic. Epic 0fail.

Hold that thought, and we'll get back to it later

                          So here we go . . .

                          Car out

                          Tools out

These will sing bye bye to the car

Door card removal, yet again, first

Door handle matches the sideskirt LoL

Took the frame out once more

Had to be extra cautious cause I had the mirrors attached

                          Hello Audimpreza

                          Today's working bench

                          Bye bye glass

This is our accurate scale for the day with the custom mount for the glasses

                          Driver's Window (3.109 kgr or 6.855 pounds)

Whereas LEXAN one, less than half weight, even with the hardcoat treatment, and the thick size I went for (1.531kgr or 3.375 pounds)

Now where is that window for the damn driver

                          Oh here it is

I didnt know what was to come later . . . so I thought why not make the door lighter . . .

Took some of my favorite tools of my garage

                          And started playing

My new 3" game, wasnt joking

Then I worked my way with the smaller ones

I think that's enough for now

                          nice touches from the heat

Another 1/2kg removed easily (or 0,11 pounds)

Reinstalled everything, and first door was done

Did not test the up and down function cause I wanted to let the glue dry for some days first

                          Passenger's side

                          New pile of junk removed

And this is where it went wrong . . .

Again, as the driver's side I tried to remove the oem window mounts

                          Even with a heat gun

in the end I managed to brake one, and thought, screw it, I will order new ones and get on with it

Called the stealership, only to find out, that it was not sold separately , despite it having an own part number . . .weird . . .

I drilled it here, and made an aluminum bracket to fit it to window regulator.

No pic here, cause I was toooooo frustrated at that time. I might have one on my iphone though. I did it though.

Then moved to the rear windows which were easier, due to me having them in a fixed closed position from the past

OEM rear window weight is 2.221 kgr or 5pounds

Lexan weight was again less than 2.5 pounds, but have no pic

With its oem mount in place

I am now thinking of ordering the front windscreen as well.

Cant wait to install the rear ones as well

And most of all drive this thing

                          I miss it

                          Cheers
