More progress. took the grinder to all of my cooling tins.
Primed and painted.
I took my seats apart as well.
Primed and painted them. Wasn't happy with the seat bottoms. Gonna paint them again tomorrow.
Little mock up before paint. new read welded in and rear dropped.
Started body work last night. The door and hood are embarrassingly bad lol.
With the weathers cooperation I hope to sand and spray another coat of primer and go over everything and see how happy I am with it. Maybe a little more work on Saturday and spray color on Sunday. But we will see.
Great job thus far but i have a Couple of questions :
Why not use the front clip off the pre "pig nose " type 3 ?
your using a swing axle rear sub frame and transmission , why not use IRS like the pignose came with ? Just wondering because the Irs gives plenty of rear camber but you wont be killing bearings from oil starvation of the rear bearings
Its really easy to convert to manual trans in a type 3 using a hydraulic clutch conversion because the clutch cable in the tunnel isn't there on auto cars. and its impossible to weld a new one in. ( speaking from experience )
Ive also converted a type 3 to a pre 70 front end and fenders using a clip from a 67 . rear fenders bolt right up , same goes for the rear bumper .
