i am pretty sure it a getreg 240. it is not the stock opel 4 speed, it has been swapped for a getreg 5 speed.

You sure it doesnt just screw out? Do you know what gearbox you have? 4 or 5 speed, getrag 240 or opel R25 box perhaps?

Only thing that turns me off slightly is the stickers on the rear. If you like 'em of course keep 'em, its your damn car! personally I just feel like it clutters up the rear a bit and they look kind of out of place, but that's just me. Can't wait to see what kind of monster this thing turns into
yeah the stickers are coming off, they were put on by the previous owner. I am a bit afraid that they are going to pull the paint off so i am going to wait till i am ready to have the car painted

it is a bit of franken motor at the moment so i'll list what is in there now and what is going to be there when i'm done.

Right now it is a GM Europe c24ne block with a highly ported and polished head from the original 1.9L head. the head has been ground to run larger valves and converted to a roller cam setup with billet rockers and HD valve springs. The cam is MASSIVE at 278 duration with a total almost a half an inch of valve lift. I put on a Weber 38 downdraft carb on a ported intake manifold. which basically means i had a bored an stroked built motor.

What i am planning is swapping over all the parts that bolt on to the head on to the head that is supposed to go on the 2.4L c24ne and have it ported. I am doing this because i have a set of intake manifolds for that head to run dual webber 45 sidedrafts. the ports on the heads are slightly different which sucks because it means more work but it means almost double the CFM. I am then thinking about 12 to 1 pistons since the motor started burning a little oil and since i am having the head done i thought i should cover all my bases with some rings and i might as well go high comp. In addition i need to have a custom header and exhaust made that will tuck up to the body for better clearance.

I am hoping this doesn't shatter my axles but we'll see...
