Figured i would update this since the Opel got put away for the winter today. I'm kind of sad that i won't be able to drive her for a while but i'm happy to get to work.

First i pulled the wheels off since i'm selling them.

Found some interesting things. First the front brakes were upgraded to 2 piston floating calipers and that the hubs have already been converted to extended studs. Plus the fronts had a nice pair of 10mm H&R spacers.

hopefully i'll have time/money to convert the suspension to coilovers so we'll see

I have a couple of options for converting the rear to coilovers but they all involve making a few arms. That wouldn't be too bad it just comes down to time. If nothing else the springs are not progressive so i can just cut a coil to lower the rear down a tad.

Then i pulled the intake off and pulled the plug wires so i could start looking at the wiring and how i could do it better. The wiring is a total shitfest in the bay. It has two different ignition amplifiers wired in and stuff just looks like crap. Since i have to completely rewire the ignition and the alternator (going from externally regulated to internally regulated) i might as well do everything and make it look clean.

I don't know if i'm going to go down tomorrow and start labeling the wiring depends on football

while i was in Mexico with the car this weekend i was behind a rusted grand am who decided they wanted to do a burnout as they were turning left onto a divided highway in the middle of nowhere. I turned to my buddy in the passenger seat and said "No way, two can play!" and roasted the tires. i love this car

10 points to the first person who gets the reference.

well i think we figured out what was wrong with the car. the intake and exhaust manifolds were only hand tight. drives soooooooooo much better now might have to throw it back on the dyno.

i have also worked out how to change the front suspension over to a coilover setup... i like being low

dyno did not go as well as i would have hoped. found out that my rev counter is WAY off. when you can feel the motor cut out the tach says 7k but according to the signal wire i am only at 4.5k...

as a result the car is only putting out 94hp to the wheels.

in the grand scheme of things it isn't a big deal. i was planing on rewiring the car and putting in a new ignition control, fuel pump, and tachometer when i switched over to side drafts as hopefully when that is all done we should be in business

    ooooo those are hot!

that last ones makes me want to go black really really really bad.

so for wheels i am going back and forth on doing 15" or 16" as of right now i most likely wont have the extra funds to go something totally different which would mean a pair of 92s that are 8" wide but if i can manage it i would like to do a 15x8 15x9 setup since wheel choices are so plentiful for 4x100

i came across these today and they are giving me ideas...

yeah they are rotas but they can be had in the specs i would like hehe
