Rannem- It has a k26/6 fitted but i just bought an 8.
I will be using the 6 for now.
I knew the best solution was to vent the front pannel, but i didnt want to change the look of the car.
Seffer- im not done cleaning yet, its going to be much better.
I see you have bumped into the same problem for cooling the intercooler, as i did when the turbo engine was fitted in my -83 944. The result was cutting ventilation holes in the front plate.. Not ideal, but efficient!
Anyway.. Like the progress alot! I know how hard it is to do such fixes in a single garage..
Problem time.
I paced the inlet on to work out the hoses(vacum coolant and boost) very simple as I'm deleting the fuel vapour purge system, cycle valve system and venturi system.
As I placed the intercooler in it was obvious it was not going to get any air fed to it.
See-
The turbo cars have a bumper slot like this-
I have no desire to fit a turbo bumper anymore.
My thoughts were to take advantage of the 5 digit plate and do this-
As you can see, the frontal aera isnt massive but its very deep capacity.
The price of all the exhaust gasgets came to more than a Lloyds director xmas bonus, so I bought a sheet of exhaust gasget material, the joints on the crossover pipe and gate are important as boost can be lost here.
Speaking of boost, I have 4.5mm shimmed the wastegate and got a bleed valve & line.
I fitted the rear exhaust section, its going to have to be played with as it sits too low and pokes to much
Engine back in and being built up, the head isnt bolted yet (waiting for gasget) just laid on to cover the block.
Manifold is on though,
Ive blagged an afternoon off, so I hope to get under it and fit the starter/exhaust front and whaterver else can go on without the head.
I have bought a standard used exhaust to get it on the road , rear section is dansk. its a full system with the waste pipe fitted, should save a lot of hassle , I can mod it later..
I said no blingy exhausts, but this has a blingy tail pipe..
Removed head, bores perfect and block is groupe 1.
