In case you didn't notice (90% of the people that look at the car don't), but I actually have tinted them very lightly.

The yellow car you linked to (thank you for not posting the picture directly, I appreciate that ) is a MK1.5, the difference you're seeing is the fact that he has shaved the lower grille bars, rub strips, and turn signals from his stock bumper; a look I am not fond of.

    The more I know

Oh ok, it makes sense now. Yeah, I just love seeing those crap altezzas red tinted and I am throwing that idea around in a bunch of threads, and one guy actually did it(with great success) on his aerio.

You're right, as soon at the facelift hits, it seems like the aftermarket drops off for cheap ricer body parts. Thanks for sharing the info, I feel a bit less stupid.

Damn, that's low. Even the smallest speedbumps must seem like mountains.

    • Exactly, my half-generation is a black sheep. I personally think it's a shame, the facelift did wonders for the car's lines.

Speedbumps really aren't too bad, I just take them slowly and at an angle.

      • Picked up a 60mm spring conversion for the rear with 450lb/in x 150mm springs on Wednesday. Maybe I'll put them in this weekend while I'm trying to track down the infernal squeak back there. I've also got new rear swaybar bushings to toss in.

Up next is either clutch/flywheel or a 60mm spring conversion with camber plates, solid tophats, and pillowball camber plates up front. I'm probably going to convert the springs this summer and do the clutch while the car is stored over the winter.

My tow vehicle/ new DD will be very interesting

            • Damn, it looks awesome! You should have posted it in the showroom though, so more people might give you some feedback

              • I might post in the showroom later this year, I still have some other things to take care of before I consider it "done for the season". Next on the appearance list is a set of sideskirts, and to see if I can revive that FocusSport lip I had on the car last year.

                    • Odered these today:

In the middle are Delrin steering rack bushings...

And here are the AN conversion fittings for my power steering lines. I'll be making black braided lines and mounting a power steering cooler.

                        • For some reason, I just love that dead on rear shot.

Still looks great! I feel like a dickrider for commenting so much here though

Thanks so much! I love it to death!

                              UPDATE!

I tossed the 450lb/in springs in the car on Saturday, and noticed a DRASTIC improvement in ride quality. The ass end of my car was bouncy before, but it is perfectly firm and smooth now (just the way I like the as to be).

Also, I took the little lady to autocross for a CART event at Thompson Speedway today. We had an absolute blast in spite of the early rain, and the car put down some extremely impressive times. Slammed directly onto its face over 205 all-seasons, it was running within 2-3 seconds of many purpose-built cars on enormous slicks. I took home first in class, to boot!

We capped off the day at the track with a fun run during which Kayla (my GF) rode shotgun. We finished the run, and as soon as we drove past the marshall, he looked in and yelled "she's got quite the grin on her face!"

Pics: Keep in mind, the course did dry up after the photo runs, and I do have some crappy screenshots from the video Kayla took with my phone of the car just barely getting some daylight under the inside rear.

The car was a big hit among club members. This picture pretty much sums up the reaction to my car as it dragged the front lip around the track.

                              Aaaannnd, ACTION!

First run, elected to take an instructor for some quick tips...
