It's all about the location!
Here, in Estonia (Eastern Europe):
Not so much Honda scene at all, few enthusiasts only and nobody hates them.
And VW scene is kinda cool, people like old and new VW low and slow.
But ***** scene here is BMW guys. Lots of bimmerguys drive around like assholes, don't use blinkers, cut everybody off, exceed speed limits and other shit. AND cause a lot of accidents
Also they run loud exhausts and car's tech isn't good also.
People **** them and so does police.
And normal people usually don't buy BMW because police is pulling them over for "random checks" too often.
So yep, it's all about location.
We have saying here "igas bmw-s ei ole jobu, aga igal jobul on bmw", it means "there isn't a douche in every bmw, but every douche has a bmw"

i like that saying. i am going to put that on my windshield
I particularly enjoy my Thursday night car meet in my county. Basically started out all right, couple of interesting people with some interesting cars, cops came but were always cool with us hanging out for a few hours one night a week, as long as we weren't assholes (which we weren't). Then kids from both high schools started driving and it turned from nice cars and cool people to high school drama and ZOMG nissan altimas with underglow and spray painted pink radiator grilles. Then came the rednecks. Lifted truck after lifted truck with skoal-dipping, barely understandable guys who all wanted to "run over the miata" (thats me) and try to pick up the car.
I **** lifted trucks and ricers the most.

Its not a issue of which car scene is worse. The question is which age bracket of car lovers is the worse. And its the under 30 y/o bracket. Im sorry Im sure its not everybody but its the age of people in the scene. The new generation of car people are just followers. They dont even pay bills and still live in there parents house. Very seldom do they build anything original, and when it happens its usually some forgotten rust bucket that still runs they in turn try and make into some sort of rat rod clone. Or they try and mod cars that have no business being tampered with in the first place. Then say people are free to build what they want as they copycat what the internet does. They think because they can rip a e-brake there drifting and doing so in there front drive car. They don't even realize the copycat wheel company's are copycatting old wheel designs. Bright crayon colored pink replica wheels are the new normal. Adapters and another cars stock wheels are custom. And what old is new low offset wheels from almost 30 years ago is new. And slammed cars been around since the 40-50's era but now is called stance. Most of the youtube video's of cars even use the same music or song the rest of them do. Its not the car scene its the age group. I blame the internet and dubstep
Taking over the world one old German car at a time.
who cares if people rip ebrake in their civics. who cares what car. who cares what wheels. who cares what age. who cares what modifications. if you are doing it for the pure joy that cars can bring, then good for them.
yeah since ive posted this, ive kinda gathered that there are pretty much assholes everywhere and drive everything. the same goes for all around cool dudes. just gotta pick the right friends B) . some of my best friends ive met through stanceworks/other car pages and thats what makes the car scene worth it for me
We have the WORST Honda scene here. A bunch of hack jobs with horribly done engine swaps "racing," and I use that term loosely because it's pretty much a weed whacker competition. Nothing done proper, a lot of primer, a lot of blue smoke, and a lot of retardation. I fell to S|W with my Honda because I could not BRING MYSELF to follow in those footsteps.
I have to agree that every scene has its fair share of Douche bags but i honestly think that some are far worse then others or can this assumption be based on location???????
