The videos got me soo siked to go slide! Now I'm just mad that my car isn't done haha. I love raw incar footage like that, where you can see infront of the car and what the driver is doing, but you could definately tell you needed a little more power in the 3rd gear sweepers towards the end. Burn some rubber for me at the matsuri, I wish I could drive an event like that.

    Thanks mate

Yeah I think they look meaner too, the only problem is the wheels blend into the tires in photos especialy when drifting

Yeah I am lacking a bit in the RWHP department
It is just a stock SR20DET runing a stock T25G on stock boost with just exhasut and intercooler power mods

In that video i struggled a bit more then usual coz there was a tire wall on the edge of the track on the corner where the entry speed is usually above 100km/h, so i was entering too slow and couldn't spin 3rd gear

I might bump up the boost a little to around 12psi for next year of events,
I'm just trying to make sure i'm maxing out my car's capability and not just running out of skill before I increase power.

these last wheels make the car look mean.

from the video, seems to me like you need a little extra RWHP? whats the specs on the engine anyway?

    Since the last update:
Did skids at a Members Only Drift Day, track flow was amazing and got to tandem with a few friends.
For some reason the cursed handbrake problems always haunt my car, so might have to fork out $300 for some Mu Project handbrake shoes since i don't like the idea of going to a hydro handbrake.

Was seeing some pretty high water temps out on the track, so bought and fitted a Koyo Alloy Radiator.

Also fitted a bucket seat and a super low seat rail

Out on the track i seemed to have cracked my turbo dump pipe, so i had to get a new one of those too

Not a whole lot else has changed on the car, but with the drift off-season ending in end of Feb with an epic 2 day Matsuri event it is time to fix all the little issues on the car and get it running 100%. Which will be a bit of a challenge with Rego and Insurance due on the car in Jan leaving little money to play with.

Haven't made much progress with the car for a while since my jack was screwed, so I needed to buy a new one.

Got a costco jack now, so got working on the car over the weekend

In the past week i've lost a dump pipe nut, a swaybar D link and the exhaust is leaking at the cat coz the bolts are loose and i couldn't fix any of these things without a jack

So i put in some good wrench time into the car on Sat

Most importantly found the cause of my steering issues, 1 end of the power steering rack was not secured at all, the bracket was so loose it was only a few more threads off completely coming off
So it tightened that bitch down, so now the car does exactly what i tell it to do, feels good

Fixed some of the exhaust leaks, but still have a couple of small ones left

Re-bolted my half cage in properly with bottom plates

Discovered the reason my handbrake failed last drift day, one of the drum shoe pads completely delaminated even though they were new, so i'll be taking them back to get re-done

Removed Amp/Sub wiring from the car since i've never had an amp or a sub in the car ever lol

Bashed and flared out the f**ked front guard, so hopefully it lasts a bit longer drifting next time

Also bought a bucket seat for the car, so just need to get some rails modded to fit

    Still left to do:
    Knuckles
    Lock spacers
    Fit bucket seat
    Get a steering wheel
    Get 3" gutted cat
    Replace missing swaybar D link

    thanks man ^^

so in true wheel whore style i bought another set of wheels LOL

Work Equips 17x9 +18 for skids

then took a few photos packing for another drift day

    Team Tuffcore repping

got a half cage installed with a help of a few mates

and the car packed for winton

in the back there is 6 wheels with tires, 2 spare tires, a box of spares, a box of tools, 5L of coolant, 5L of oil, a jack stand, helmet and a pillow

and here is the review from the day's drifting:

well i survived another drift day, but not without some casualties

This drift day's casualty was my front left guard, getting munched by the tire while i was riding the ripple strip

The day started off fairly slow with hardly any runs in C class with lots of time spent siting in the start line
However from the first minute on the track i fell in love with the new front Federal RS-Rs. Its been a while since i've been able to tell the car where to go, usually spending most of the time fighting it and trying to throw it in the right direction. The grip of the RS-Rs was great, even a bit too great I might say as there were a few times i've spun simply because i would usually get the front to skip along and understeer a bit when at full lock, but that is just an excuse for me to save up for some extra lock knuckles.

I was having a bit of an issue with the handbrake cover getting stuck on the trim at the start of the day, but ditched the cover for the rest of the day to solve the problem.
The next 2 sessions in group C did not provide much track time either compared to what i was seeing in Group B. So having asked around for long enough I got myself bumped up to Group B for the rest of the day.
What a huge difference that made. Going from a peak hr traffic jam in the start line in Group C, to a free flowing open track in Group B. I was loving it, lapping it up, unfortunately the handbrake decided it had enough for the day and stopped locking the rear wheels, so I had to manage the rest of the day without it. This made for a few more spins, trying to wash off speed with more angle rather then being able to adjust it with the handbrake. And then i discoved the reason i was producing so much smoke from my front tire, the front left guard bent in on itself and was cutting and scrapping the tire fairly hard.

Having fixed the issue with some breaker bar guard rolling i went out into the next Group B session, which then kinda combined with Group C and A towards the end and turned into a massive open session, but since so many people have already called it a day by that point the flow was not too bad. So i got a few more laps in before i bent the front guard again and came into the pits to not risk damaging the tire any further.

I've had a friend's camera on my car for most of the day, so should have most of the drift footage except for the times i forgot to press record lol
