Soo... long time no update...
Went to a 2 day drift event (Drift Matsuri 25-26th Feb) and what an epic weekend it's been
Thursday
On Thursday I've finally recieved my Mu Handbrake shoes, so i got to fitting them after work.
While I was doing that I've also raised the car a bit all round to make it driveable for winton.
However when I loaded the car up with all the wheels/tires and spare parts the rear ended up rim on guard again and I ran out of daylight to do any more work on the car.
So I took it for a spin around the block to see if i could manage to drive it up like that.
This has shown up a fair few issues with my plan, the front tires scrubbed heavily when turning and the car was scraping the ground with every little undulation in the road and to top it off the rear guards were smoking from the sidewalls rubbing.
Workign a 9-5 job there was no time to raise the car after work as I would have to leave for winton as soon as I get home.
While fitting the handbrake shoes i've also discovered that the rear left wheel bearing was fair f**ked and has a shitload of play in it, which would have to be replaced after Matsuri as I've had nothing spare
Friday
Woke up at 6am to raise the car before I leave for work. Took about an hr to do all 4 corners, but the car now had no scrubbing issues expecpt from the ocasional scrape of the exhaust or a puff of smoke from the sidewalls on a bump. Good enough as I didn't have any more time to work on it.
Work day seemed to stretch on forever as I was pumped to get to winton.
Lucky for me a friend saved me a car port pit spot, so I wouldn't have to cook in the sun all day.
The drive up was fairly uneventfull except for a cop bike hiding in the bushes who tried to follow us for a bit, but then left coz we were not speeding.
Once we got to Leisure Park, I got my drink on
Saturday
After a quick breakfast at Maccas, we headed off to the track, where I lowered the car back down a little and put on the AD08 front runners
In the First session the handbrake would not work, so I tried to get it working by yanking it real hard with some minor success when combined with a hard tap of the brakes.
Once I got back to the pits i've tightenned the drums and the hanbrake nut inside the cabin, but this seemed to have done nothing when I tried to use it in the Second session.
So by this point I said f**k it and just clutch kicked everywhere instead
With the blistering heat of the day I was a bit worried about the water temperatures, but the max it got to throughout the day was 95deg with no cool down laps and just lap after lap drifting. I was pretty stocked with the performance of the car durring the day and gained a bit more speed entering the S'es and the Sweeper. By around 5pm i was almost out of fuel and filled a 20L jerry can.
Later in the day the sun set has become a PITA when trying to enter the S'es as it was in your face right up to the entry point.
However the full dark night session has proved to have even less visibility due to the dust in the air reflecting off the lights.
With the day done and dusted we kicked back the Leisure park with a few drinks before calling it a night to get some sleep for Day 2
Sunday
The day started with a breakfast of left over pizza after which we headed to the track.
The wet roads around Benalla gave me hope for a cooler and wetter track, to make it easier on the car to slide. However the sun came out in force and the track was bone dry by the 2nd Group of the day.IThe breeze made the weather feel cooler and was a nice change from Sat weather.
After the first session i was once again almost out of fuel and used another 20L Jerry can.
The rest of the day went smoothly with no problems with me deciding to call it a day at 4pm and started to pack up.
By just my luck as I packed the car, the heavens openned up and it started to pour with rain. I realy wanted to go out for a wet session, but i would've preffered to get home earlier as I was wreked and needed a lot of sleep.
I was pretty damn wrecked as I got home and having to get up for work earlynext morning didn't help, but all f**king worth it to have such an epically awsome time drifting with friends.
Bring on the Next event!!!
Things to do before April:
Replace rear left wheel bearing
Fix handbrake issue and get lever extension(current issue is probably the way the lines are run under the car
Fit extra lock knuckles
Thanks to all the photographers for the pics
Will post vids laterLast edited by 180roman; 02-02-2014, 01:11 AM.

so there has actually been some progress on the car now
i took out the subframe and removed the old bushes and replaced them with solid alloy risers
This moved my subframe up, so the toe arms no longer hit the subframe, so there now was more room to lower the car
I wanted to see how much lower I can get the car now
So this was the result
I also sold the R31 that could be seen in the background of previous pics and bought a new daily Holden Barina(Opel Corsa B) which can be seen hiding in the background now

So drift Matsuri entries opened last night and the event sold out in just over 1hr
So many people were trying to register that it kept crashing the server, but i managed to get a spot
It will surely be an awesome event with all 150 spots filled + reserves
This kind of left me with very little money to play with though, so progress might be pretty slow with the car.
And here is a couple of photo updates from a photo shoot i went to

I see lack of Meister updates from you
I want to see those things reassembled with rear barrels all round and trial fitted on the car

Z progress has been pretty non existent since i pulled the head off to change the headgasket. Just cleaned up some blocked water galleries and stuff, but been lacking time and torque wrench to put the head back on the car.
Probably just going to organize like a BBQ working Bee on the car with friends, so i can get it all done in one day.. i got a torque wrench id come help ya but im a few miles away lol

I love raw incar footage like that, where you can see infront of the car and what the driver is doing, but you could definately tell you needed a little more power in the 3rd gear sweepers towards the end. Burn some rubber for me at the matsuri, I wish I could drive an event like that.
Since that video for the last even of the year I upped the tire pressures on the back to 50psi, as I used to run 35psi, so i could get a bit more grip in 2nd gear corners to pick up speed.
But on 50psi 3rd gear slides so much better with my power. My friend runs 50psi on the rare tires in his S14 and he has 200kWs, so i guess i should stick to 50.
Super keen for Matsuri, just over a month and a half left.
