Aww man that would have been sick! Good luck finding something else. I have seen a red IS around Berea a couple times, but i doubt it's the same one.

So, since we have to wait a while to get the hub situation sorted, yesterday my dad and i took the gauge cluster out hoping to just see that the SI board batteries needed replacing only to find that the SI board itself was corroded as hell



And for some reason my dad thinks it would be a better idea to get tires for the style 5s first rather than the bottlecaps, which i think isn't a very good idea considering I have had my permit long enough to where I can test to be able to drive on my own, and the style 5s are still sitting in the garage split, still needing more wet sanding, new hardware, and the faces blasted and painted. I really need to get back to wet sanding and do it right this time, i have way too much time on my hands

I am probably gonna order it straight from momo this time.

I got my momo hub from amazon for my royal. I got lucky with it fitting first try.

don't buy another off amazon . get one off ebay if anything , one that has a decent picture of the actual product . It seems they sent you one for another car , that solid black portion shouldn't be there , On every e28 hub I've seen , its always just the black accordion plastic . Good luck , I've had issues with amazon in the past , a lot of the time the part isn't the correct one .

I am probably gonna order it straight from momo this time.

When I was googling your problem, I caught a glimpse on a bmw site of what month and year the changeover from one spline to the other occurred. Can't remember which site though

As far as I know it was 85-86 but now I am about 90% sure my car is coarse spline. I really have no idea how but whatever haha.

That looks like part # 3506 or 3508. Cant really tell.

Well that is a sample picture so that may not actually be it. But i think i am gonna have to send it back and order the #2005 adapter and hope and pray that my car is coarse spline.

its the wrong hub i think. i did the same thing on mine. i ordered this one, and returned it for the one that looks like this
and it works perfect in my e28.

Modifications are needed for airbag models, i think. But I think airbag models were later years

Actually the seller isn't momo, but it seems pretty legit to me. The only other possible issue i can think of is the difference between fine and coarse spline. supposedly the part number #2005 is a coarse spline and #2006 is fine, but even still i am pretty sure 86 and up should have a fine spline so that takes me nowhere. Is there any way my car could have ended up being coarse spline even though it's an 86?
