I feel your pain, engineering school is no walk in the park haha. Just read through the whole thread, your car is looking great man, hard to beat an E28 on style 5s with an IS air dam!

    back from the dead

What's up guys, long time no post, but currently taking a break from writing a 3500 word paper, so what's a better time to revive a build thread? Funny cause not much visual improvement has happened with the car. All new front suspension components were installed on the car, along with BC racing coilovers. The car is a tad bit lower now especially in the rear. Want to get my taurus side skirts on sometime soon.

I took the car down to slammedenuff gatlinburg, which ended up being a great time. Met a lot of great guys down there.

Also, i have a Nardi gara 4 to go in. The spoke pad needs a refinish first.

Other than that, it's been really tough to get things going on this thing lately. Engineering school has been tough on me, but i'll make it through. First world problems haha

Just in case you guys haven't seen it on my instagram, my car has been on DIY coilovers for about a month now. They are by no means that great at all but for the price I can't complain. I graduate from high school in 2 weeks so i'm not sure how my car will progress while i'm in college but i'm most likely going to focus on maintenance now, and if my car isn't on real coilovers in the next four years She'll for sure be bagged on some beautiful 3pc wheels once i'm an engineer

I haven't really been active on here lately, but sadly i won't be making it down there this year. The state of my front suspension isn't very promising and it keeps getting worse so i'll be stuck home this year.

I'm at the occasional point in time where basically nothing is going on with my car but I really want to make an update.

I still don't have a job, I know It's not very smart to own a vintage BMW with no income, i'm truly scared to death that something just explodes and there's nothing to be done about it.

I went to Water by the Bridge and had my car in the show, the weather was horrible but i'm hoping the euro district will be much better.

Me and my friend made a stupid music video for our English class with my car and his truck in it so if you'd like to see that go ahead:

And last but not least, I have been getting tired of my ride height, so the strut inserts I need to put on my coilover sleeves will be ordered soon and i'll be rolling on the stock rear shocks for a while since i'm not exactly in the position to buy billy sports at the moment. I really need spacers too but i'm not sure if that's a good idea considering the condition of my front suspension bushings and the massive amount of toe out i have on the passenger side for some reason. Makes me wonder if i can get an alignment. Who knows. It sucks because all the plans i had for my car have gone to shit since I lost my job but that's life. Sorry for my rambling, hopefully i'll have something worth showing in the coming weeks.

Story of my life. Found a pair of ratty e21s nearby and he wants 1900 for both of em, one's pretty nasty and I could prob pick it up for 400-500.

Hey guys, not much of an update but I just wanted to talk about what has been going on with my car lately. About a week and a half ago my car started leaking coolant and the hose that was busted was right under one of the intake manifold runners so the intake manifold had to removed to get to it. Therefore I had to wait a week for parts, and not being able to drive my car really sucked.

What also sucked was that I had finally bit the bullet on doing diy coilovers but the money I had planned on using for that went to gaskets, hoses, and o rings, therefore no coilovers.

Now today, when I was at the auto parts store, I happened to meet a guy that works on euro cars who had a 1985 528e he was willing to sell. It has a manual transmission, an aftermarket stereo, and other bits that may be in worse shape on my car than his, now I thought "yeah, in my dreams" until the guy says the car has a broken rocker and he will sell it for 400 dollars. So basically what has been running through my head all day is:

How am I gonna get 400 dollars?

Where am i gonna keep the car?

Are me, my father, and anyone else who chooses to help with a manual swap actually capable of doing one?

Woah i can probably make money on parts.

It's very discouraging and exciting at the same time, and at this point i'm feeling like coming up with the 400 bucks to buy the thing in the first is nothing compared to having to find a place to keep and part out the thing.

    Cars drive me insane.
