  • no updates. been just driving the piss out of it. Really fun to just enjoy it. did wash it though. Next on the list is gonna be to try and get all my front end stuff taken care of. got her over 100 the other night and it was a little sketchy to say the least. The body work is on hold again lol.

    good side photo.

just breaking in the rear too. flipped my tires so its been ever so gently rubbing the tire away until it stops. been taking full car trips to the closest skatepark about 30 minutes away since nothing closer really allows bikes or has night lights so fenders have been taking some wheel lately.

                  Thanks man! Appreciate that.

Spring is here! the weather has been so damn nice.

ended up pulling my left strut apart the other day for reasons and looked at my lower control arm while down there. safe to say i did not realize how close i was to needing to replace them. The whole front end needed a re haul soon but i didnt have the cash. After seeing how bad the lca is, i charged up the ol credit card and bought lcas, ucas, tie rod link kits, idler arm, and center link. Should be the last huge maintenance thing for a while. Hopefully. ended up replacing both fuel pumps a few weeks or a month or so now back. Hoping all this arrives next week or the week after.

                  • so I took the car in the direction that I have wanted to lately. Raised it about an inch or 2, went back to e38 style 5s, went up in tire size, and replaced all front end bushings and pieces. I cant even exaggerate how much better the car feels. Took it out tonight and ran some 20-25 mph corners at twice that with ease and have basically no more front end shake even with the spacers. very pleased with it so far. swapped around the spacers. so now the rears have a 20mm and the fronts have a 25mm. fronts rub just a tad in reverse so i may raise it up another 1/8 inch to compensate or throw the 20s back up front. Anyway, onto some pics.

took the time to clean, sand, and paint the wheels.

all new parts. Got brand new tires as well. (not pictured)

                    first night out.

came home after work and threw the caps on the wheels and also threw the bra on. raised the rear another inch or so at work too. much better.

and two pics from tonight with the spacers swapped. Love how the front looks. matches the rear but the rubbing bugs me a lot since I was trying to get away from all that. May change it back up tomorrow. it is only 5mm.

Probably did the exact opposite of what many people would do with raising it and all that but Im so happy with it. Got it just how I wanted it in the beginning.

                    • I think you took the right direction in so many ways. I don't really know what's causing it, It might just be because I'm getting older, but personally I am totally growing apart from the whole extreme fitment thing. I just don't really see how it's enjoyable, unless you're trying to prove a point or something and that's just how you do it. I could say that I've been there (to an extent, I never got too wild), and it was nothing but stress and it actually pushed me away from enjoying the car, and I ended up selling it. It's really all about feeling good in your car while you're driving your fucking car. So I gotta say, good for you for making your car more functional, I can tell you're enjoying it way more and that's all that matters. Plus it looks way bitchin as it sits. Keep it up.

I honestly think I am becoming the same way. I just got so tired of it. It didnt help realizing that my LCAs were shot only after months of having the car on the ground. I was also tired of not being able to take friends around without beating the hell out of my rear fenders and my fronts from turning. I just wanted to be able to drive the hell out of it while maintaining a good height and also a good ride. Even with the coils we made, the left was always bottoming out and that bugged me so damn much. I really appreciate the kind words dude. I feel like i definitely did the opposite of many people but im really enjoying it so far and dont really plan on going back down to that again.

                        • Although its not what I would do I totally understand why you raised it and put those wheels on it. It looks amazing either way haha.

yeah dude its probably what a lot of people would not do but it was time for me. Ive been contemplating it and finally did it. Im so so happy with the outcome though. Car is still "low" and handles amazing plus the tires fill out much better imo and no more rub. Just wanted a clean looking perfomance type look. Thanks dude.
