Also let me know what you used for the mk2 coilover setup and how you made it work, did you use mk2 stuff for the rears too? I just want all the details so I can fix my suspension right and make it last for a good bit this time.
It was a bummer but hey the quiksteel is holding niiiice.
So I bought mk2 rabbit kyb inserts, the housing were shortened I wanna say a 1 1/2 inches, and a coupling was welded on so the coilover sleeve had something to sit on because the old spring perch was cut off. The rears of e28s accept a coilover sleeve reallly well so I just took the old spring off, threw the sleeve and spring in, and called it good.

Do the tierods for sure , Double check the center link bar . That was the reason for the most play on my suspension .
Thanks dude! Pan is good for now so thats a plus.
Definitely will check. Looked under there while I was doing the pan and everything but the outer tie rod ends looks good for the most part. Even looked replaced to some degree so gonna just start there and see what happens.

Gotcha. I have sleeves on it right now, it's just the fronts are kinda shitty without the housings being modified. But that's exactly how my rears are right now lol.

The most wear is actually the Pin that has a rubber bushing that holds the idler arm to the subframe. Just unbolt that and check the bushing . cant really tell how much play there is without removing it. Takes 5 min

Yeah I should check that. Maybe some time soon. been under the car too much recently lol.

Soo its been a while since an update. sold the ACTs for what I was expecting out of them. used that money to save for some wheels I wanted for quite some time but thatll come in a sec. I raised the car for winter after the first storm because I got stuck and it made me realllllly mad. Dont really know why because for the last two winters, I was fine with it haha. Plus the only wheels I had at that point were my studs so it gave me an excuse to sell the ACTs and get something that fit better. I was never going to get those to fit how I liked.

here was winter mode for the month or so it lasted. got to admit it was so fun beating on this thing with no worries of getting stuck. These cars kill it in the snow with proper tires.

And then I got the wheels. They were on Taylors e28 (tcturbooo) and ever since he got them a while back, I wanted them. We settled on a price and they showed up in a week. I was stoked to say the least.

And these were some of the first pics after I got them on. The rear settled after this a little more to help with the rake even though I love rake on e28s.

            It snowed shortly after again...

The body damage on the rear quarter panel is slowly getting worse too. It is cracked bondo and when water would get in the cracks and freeze, it expanded the cracks decided to pull the carpet and see what people did before to fix it since I know this side must have been fixed. Wasnt as bad as I thought. they seemed to put some type of rubber mat against it. Im assuming as a form if dynamat.

Took some more pics as well.

Also ended up breaking my pan again...

And I fixed it andddddddddd it broke again.... Was actually on my way to pick up smaller front tires since these 205s rubbed the fronts soooo bad. kind of ironic honsestly. That same night, it broke again. Actually, the quiksteel I kept using was scraping off revealing the crack

I knew that was the last straw. I had a piece of steel sitting in my garage since probably summer 2013 cause I was gonna make a plate for my old e28. I finally nutted up and made one. Real quality pics but you get the idea. Used the straight piece to go from side to side across the front frame rails that drop down along the front of the car. from there, i bolted the plate to that and drilled holes in the subframe behind the oil pan to hold up the rear. Im very pleased with it so far.

And This was after with the smaller front tires. Very pleased with the way they fit. Hardly any run anymore.

My buddy bought my old e34 so its nice to see that its still around. He has some plans for it so thats always good.

Finally, some closer fitment shots. Very happy with the fitment. Pretty much exactly what I wanted out of them

That can come out either twice as good or twice as bad . Would love to see how it looks though
