Man where do I start? Its been a while but a lot seems to have happened in that time. Winter took a toll on the car, new parts were installed, things were painted, good stuff. First off, I FINALLY got the correct harness and ecu in my car. It had the factory 007 eta ecu still installed after the engine was SETA swapped so I think that gave me a lot of my previous issues with fuel and so on. It also gave me a bigger headache when the temp sensor went out because the car would just die and after replacing it, the car idled high when warmed up. Was a major pain in the ass but I found a super eta harness, 154 ecu, and a guy with the correct AFM, idle control valve, 02 sensor, and crank postion sensor since the standard eta doesnt use one. Now the shity part about the harness was that I found one but it ended up being the wrong harness. It was pictured correctly on the ad but the guy sent me the wrong one. SO that was a massive bummer. luckily, I got a good seller, he returned it, and sent me the correct one. I got a score on the other parts which was awesome. Also, I was so sick of not having heat that I ripped the guts out of the heater control valve which gave me full time heat. For people thinking that is a dumb idea since the car has AC, the AC doesnt work lol. Plus I have windows for the summer so it works out. ALSO finally got my quarter panel painted!! I waited and waited and waited for the first painter but he had other things to take care of and I didnt wanna wait any longer. He was super cool with my decision to have someone else do it so we didnt cancel on bad terms. The other painter got the car in after 3 weeks of our first convo and had it back to me in two days. Besides some minor body work flaws caused by some body work mistakes that had to be fixed again before paint, it came out great. Also picked up an e12 mirror finally and some euro lights. Man the light output is so much better. Also wired them in to run all 4 lights while in highbeam position like the car had with the US lights. Decided over winter to change the wheel color as well. The gold just isnt something I was into before and it was time to ditch it finally since the car was raised for winter. I wanted a much more subtle look. I went with a local powdercoating company called NW wheel repair. We decided on a factory BMW silver color and it came out perfect, Metallicy in the light and they fixed all nicks and dings. They looked brand new when i got them back. Ditched the federal 595s too since they run wide and I **** the design so much. Went with a cheaper ironman brand tire. They are made by cooper I believe and have a non directional design. They have been great so far. Also repainted my bumper again since it got chipped to hell this winter. Went with black primer as a base this time because with white, you could see every single chip. other than that, im eyeing a new interior (just seats) since my driver is torn. Anyway, here are some pics.

    Pics before painted panel:

    got the wheels back first.

    And after painted quarter:

The color isnt exact but I expected it to be off anyway. It came out closer than I hoped though.

Cut and buffed and ready for pickup.

    Back home and together

Had my neighbor buff the panel one more time since the painter missed a spot.

Also replaced the front struts after 2 years of numerous heights and abuse. Also, my old tophats were the culprit of some steering issues so two birds with one stone.

Girlfriends e36 got a lot of love over the last few months too. New headlights, nose panel, m3 bumper, fan clutch with blade, which if you dont have the tool for is a major pain in the ass, aux fan, and rear rotors and pads.

I deleted a lot of photos recently so sorry for lack of more photos. Thats where im at doe. probably wont post for another few months lulz.

Thank you! I was real iffy about gold and red but after doing it with the color this car is, i like it a lot.

Im coming to REALLY realize that im very impatient when it comes to a lot of things. My car is a huge one, so on my lunch break today, I ran over to a local painting place and got all my supplies for painting the quarter panel. I was super happy with how it all worked. went in, they took a pic of the bondo chunk with the paint on it, ran it through a computer, and found the closest match. Was in and out in like 15 minutes. Came out to be WAY cheaper than I thought, making it harder to wait since I have everything ready to go now and dont necessarily have a painter yet. Hoping to have one here in a few weeks if all goes well.

me too man. im hoping they can match it close too.

DONEEEE. So happy with the turnout. the dude who did it got it done in two days in his garage. absolutely killed it. now need to get some paint and get that done. Needs a wash and the window was left down so i cleaned up the interior when i got home. you would think your car would be stoked to be driven after sitting for 2 days right? wrong. the battery was dead too. sweeet.

After a full year and a half almost, i finally nutted up and got the body work started from a buddy. For the size of the area, I felt very uncomfortable doing it myself. The buddy im having to it for me works for a body shop and the progress shows within that. But of course, we had to break some off for fun before it started to get fixed.

The dynamat I thought was just there for no reason before was actually behind a spot that was cut and welded on the car, im assuming from when it was fixed the first time.

you can see the spot here.

He sent me progress pics this morning and i stole the black and white one off his snapchat.

Im hoping to have it back tomorrow with primer SO SO happy its getting done. Going to take one of the huge chunks that we broke off into a local paint specialties location and have them get the color matched as close as possible and then try to get it painted in the next few months. Will post more progress later!

    Oregon for ya

Okay I know ive talked about fixing the quarter panel for almost a year now. Well its finally happening. To an extent anyway. It will be primed until I can get the paint somewhat matched and have that quarter sprayed but knowing it will be fixed alone will make me so damn happy. It has gotten much worse since I bought the car a little over a year ago and its really starting to show. So getting it dealt with before the snow and all makes it better as well. I went out and took some pics. Talked to the guy who is doing it locally as well and felt way better about it after going into detail with the plan. Seems that he is going to have to sand/break it all off and reapply. It sounds like we may try pushing the panel a little farther out too. My biggest concern was rust forming underneath but we popped a small piece off and it looks much better than I expected. He will sand off the surface rust that im sure has formed somewhat and then go to work fixing it. Thatll take place the first weekend of next month.

here is the piece we popped off

underneath. really curious to see the shape of the metal after its all off. I see some surface rust but this piece in particular is bubbled out making me think that water would sit inside that pocket causing that.

There is also a small spot by the rear window. I pulled up the seal and sanded/primed underneath. Hoping we can fix this as well but not concerned as much as the quarter. This can wait and I think I could take this spot on alone if he doesnt do it.

The trunk had a huge spot as well that I dont think I posted a while back. It was spread along the trunk for maybe 16 inches. I took the DA I have and went to sand town on it. Threw some primer on that as well and checked it out last night. Doesnt look like anything is spreading since I did it so thats good its hard to see but you can make out the spot with the primer.

also took some iphone pics of the interior since I feel like I never post it.

And gave her one last goood bath before the bad weather rolls in. even though ill probably wash it again in a week.
