Will only be getting better from here! Pick up the last of the gold plating tomorrow, clutch is on the way, new head will be on the car this weekend (hopefully) and then the trans can finally go out to get reassembled. Motor can then go back in the car! Should be just a matter of plugging shit in after that and she should run!IG: @dubsesed

Thanks dude!
One of the fabricators at work traded me some work for an alternator. Sheesh this guy can weld. Also has a B5 12V VRT pushing 800whp..

Well, got a little distracted with all the nice weather in Minnesota. Been 60-70* all week long, so I decided to throw the V3's in and test fit the 3SDM's tonight.
Wish the front would come down some more.. I have about 130 miles on them so far and they haven't settled too much, unfortunately.. We'll see what it looks like with tires on the wheels tomorrow. Specs are 18x8.5 ET35 18x9.5 ET45 and they fit absolutely perfect. I raised the rears up about an inch to even it up out back after this picture.
As far as the MK4 goes, I'll FINALLY have the last bits that had to be gold plated for the trans, then that can go back together early next week. Then its final assembly time! Did some work on the harness tonight, routed things a little different coming out of the frame rail, should really, really clean things up drastically in that area. Also found out that when my fan control module took a dump, it messed up the pins a tad. They were a little corroded since the FCM is right in front of the front drivers side wheel and I didn't run any fender liners last year so it was fully exposed to the elements. I drove the car in the rain quite a bit last year. So that may, or probably did fry the module. I had issues with the fans since that moment, but just chalked it up to a bad module, glad I discovered that!
Also, some bummer news concerning one of the air tanks I sent out to Greg last week.. Turns out one of the tanks has some pinhole leaks in it.. Yes, the one that was pinstriped. So Greg called me and is going to fix the pinholes and send the tank to Espos to get re-powdercoated before assembly. Bad news is I'll obviously lose the pinstriped logo, but I already talked to the guy who did it and he's willing to re-do it for me, so that's awesome! If there's a silver lining to this it's Espos will be powdercoating the brake res, coolant expansion tank/flange and catch can at the same time since my local powdercoater is like 6 weeks out right now, so I wouldn't be able to get any of that stuff done in time for SoWo. Props to Swoops on that one.
Anyways, I'll be up there all day tomorrow getting some piddly stuff finished up. Probably going to be making some AN lines, degreasing the steering rack and subframe and most likely POR-15ing the steering rack. Basically getting stuff ready for final assembly pt. 2, should be an exciting next couple weeks!IG: @dubsesed

Didn't get really anything done on the car over the weekend. Oh well. Got the final trans pieces back from HiTech Metals and test fit everything. Needless to say I got the trans off to get rebuilt! Hopefully have that by the weekend or early next week.
Test fit my new downpipe and it needs a little tweaking. You can see where its hitting the head on the car. Getting that fixed today, hopefully.
Can't wait to start putting everything back together!!!IG: @dubsesed

Looking killer=) Are you applying antiseize to any of your hardware? I was told that bolts might gall and seize if I don't

Oh, and I've already found out twice that ARP and shitty VW tapped castings don't mix well together.. Snapped two bolts off in the case and had to drill, then threadsert them.IG: @dubsesed

Really starting to assemble things now. Didn't take any pictures, but I will tomorrow. I did however, bolt up two wheels for the first time since they've been done and oh my god, I'm realllllly starting to like this theme.
