            • Car wont run with that piece on it. Well it will run, but shitty haha. I have to run the ProMaf for my tune to work. But the ProMaf itself has a velocity stack built into the housing

                  • Things to never do again:

Paint a motor with VHT wrinkle black over POR15.. I spent about 10 hours yesterday stripping, wire wheeling, sanding, and then finally painted with por15 again. **** that ****. Never again. My plans are to make the motor look reallllly nice. Process will be 2 coats of Por15, sanded in between coats, then two coats of filler primer sanded in between coats, then finally paint and clear. Should turn out fantastic! I don't know if I want to do Silverstone (body color) or just a gloss black. Was halfway thinking about a gloss black with a **** ton of metallic gold flake in the paint.. That may be a little too much, though.

                    ------------------

Also got the Derale fans mounted up to the Mishimoto radiator. In order to run A/C I'm going to have to modify the bracket that comes off the condenser to hold the dryer. I knew the Mishi radiator was gonna be a pain. Oh well.

Also found out I should probably order a new clutch unless I want to change it in like June. Thank god I get stupid deals on ClutchMaster stuff. I can get an FX400 with steel flywheel for like $450..

Ordered IE street/strip cams for the built AEB head I bought last week. Should have that on the motor by the end of the weekend pending how long it takes to get the cams and install kit with a new VVT tensioner from Integrated. Once I get everything back from the powdercoater at the end of the month I'll be putting everything back together. I'm at the point right now where I'm a little "panicy" since the car is really far from running and I'm trying to get it running by April 1st or shortly there after. So I have time to dyno tune the thing before sowo.

                        • Well, got it all sorted and counted. The plating shop didn't lose any of my stuff, which is nice. Boy is the plate thin.. After cleaning, sealing and then barely even buffing some of the bolts by hand I can tell that it nearly rubbed through to the metal below on hard edges..

I got all the wheel hardware cleaned, sealed and buffed. Only like 170 more bolts to go!

Enough talking, onto the gold porn..

You can see in one of the pictures the quick release Vibrant V-band clamp T-bolt's were plated with nuts on them, thus leaving the raw stainless behind. I'm going to be bringing those back to get re-plated, with how much they charged me this shit better be perfect. Nevermind the fact that they gave me an estimate and then effectively gave themselves the go ahead to double that estimate without notifying me..

                          • The gold looks awesome! My question would be do you think the threads will start peeling and cause problems once you start putting things back together?

The gold isn't thick enough to peel. I've ran gold plated wheel bolts many times without issues, so no I'm not worried about it.
