  • Never ending quest of badassery

So the time has come to really get serious with this ol' car of mine. I bought it second hand nearly 8 years ago just shy of 12,000 miles, and didn't touch a thing till about 4 years ago..

Ill catch you up to what I did in those 4 years..

    -Slammed it on some streetlines.
-Blew out streetlines, replaced with silverlines.
-Chipped it, ripped out the fender liners on the freeway..
-Skid plate after a busted pan.
    -3" APR turbo back.
    -Misc other bolt ons
    -Full VF mounts
-Rattle canned the valances once or twice.
-Blew the Silverlines, replaced with B&G RS2's.
    -Bought RH ZW4's
    -Scared some old ladies.
-Banged a couple chicks in the backseat.
-Got sick of coils, ordered E-level.
-Put E-Level in, made sparks a few times.
-Replaced skid plate hardware elevndybillion times.
-Blew up about 10 inner CV joints
    -Ordered Raxles
-Rebuilt transmission with a quaife and TDI 5th
    -Went to rehab
-Got sober, got my priorities straight and got to work for real this time...

Ok, now that I've caught you up and saved you from reading 75 pages of nothing this is how the car sits now after I shaved a few things, rebuilt the RH's and resprayed the whole car..

Early in the season, say late April 2013 Mr. Clewell had the first go at shooting the car:

Various other images from the whole 2013 season (you'll get to know I'm quite the wheel hoarder)

So that leaves us with the plans for this winter. I have quite the checklist written up on what has to get done. Phase one: full interior retrim. Seats, door cards, rear parcel shelf, pillars, headliner and various other bits and pieces. Phase two: send my air setup off to Mr. Swoops for something special. Phase three: shave the bay, and double the current HP. Deadline you may ask? SOWO 2014..

That is all for now. All of this starts a week from today. Cant****ingwait.

Had a buddy pick these up for me from Mr. Dopesauce at H2oi the other weekend. Still on the fence about them.. Not sure I dig the whole bugeyed look. But the OEM+ factor is definitely leaning towards keeping them

So, had a productive day today. Started out detailing the car at about noon, hung around for a little bit until Mr. Kris Clewell met me downtown St. Paul for a little end of the season photo shoot. Can honestly say they're my favorite photos of the car yet!

Should have a few more shots tomorrow.. Kris' and his wife are having a baby any minute now and Jess was literally having contractions as he was shooting. She was still walking around taking more photos too! Freakin' dedicated couple them.. Couldn't thank him enough for these shots.

After leaving the shoot I smashed the living crap outta my skid plate and sheared one of he bolts right out of the subframe lol. I need a new subframe anyways.. Ill prob call up th IDF boys for some goodies

So I then drove the car up to where she'll be for the remainder of the year. A few buddies have some shop space near me that we call the Church of the Lowered.. Yeah, cheesy but whatever. It's heated, well lit and I'm accompanied by two chariots of god, and Mr. Mike "Tattoo24v" Olson himself. He'll be ripping into the yellow B5 S4 pretty soon for a Tial 770 kit..

Then I opened a few boxes and found these goodies inside! IE Tuscan rods (overkill but whatever), IE transverse cast intake manifold, and Urotuning "silicone plus" SAI/PCV/N249/EVAP kit w/ the 034 catch can. Also have a Forge SMIC along with thier silicone boost piping kit, and a set of Brembo 4 pots ready to be put on.

What is everybody's thoughts on just running the forge SMIC with a GT28rs? Never really gonna beat on it too bad. Maybe the occasional highway pull, but nothing too crazy.

Ended the night after pulling the bumper, lights, fenders, battery w/ the tray and the intake off to get ready for all the deleting of emmisions that's going to happen on Monday. Stay tuned ya'll!

              Nice, nice.

Explain to us your rear license plate? Is that legal? Is it supposed to look like the Euro plates? I'm just super curious is all.

No it's not legal. In some states such as Ohio it is as they don't specify the size of the plate in the law, so it's a bit of a loophole, but not in Minnesota. And yes, it is a europlate just wrapped in a printed vinyl.

1: Front wheel drive cars don't "go". Convert to RWD or AWD. Cars should sprint on their back legs or run on all fours, not crawl like a wounded little bitch on their front legs.

2: The only front wheel drive car ever made that was "badass" was the smart-car. Even that has more go than this.

That being said, aesthetically this car looks superb. Nicely detailed and one of my favorite colors. I also appreciate not going to crazy with the camber in the rear.

My mistake only justifies my point further. RWD/AWD master race.
