Back from death- the revival of a 74 BMW 2002

Great work, i just picked up a Hobart Handler 140 and can't wait to widen some fenders!

If it were my car, i would be looking at either sr20, 4age, and if you have some cash, the f20c is probably the best 4cyl in the world.

I'm going to have to look into learning japenese motors more because I don't know much about them. I am the last person to be a bmw purist but I think that a m20 turbo would be killer in this little car. I don't want anything bigger than a 6 ( weight low) and I love the thought of a turbo so maybe jdm is the way to go

I am going to do an m20 turbo in my next 2002. What kind of HP are you looking for in your car? Those things way nothing so even 200hp feels like a lot. You know you could always do a killer turbo m10.

I am looking for around 200-250. Anything more than that and traction becomes nothing but a memory. I would do a m10 but I would need a tii (fuel injection) and I love the sound of a bmw I6. An m10 would make a reliable turbo motor though.

You wouldn't run a tii mechanical fuel injection on a turbo m10... You would most likely get the fuel injection part from an early e30 318i or e21 with an m10 and run mega squirt or some other programmable system with electronic fuel injection. You can get 200hp out of a m10 easy with a turbo and they do sound good.

Thanks for the help, turbos are very new to me because I have never owned one before. I also came across a diffrent forced induction option for the m10... R53 Mini Cooper s supercharger bolted up to a m10

SR20 would be dope. M20 turbo would be sick as well, just do ARP head studs, fresh head gasket and you're good!

I love the steelies to but in order for me to keep them for a while, in going to have to have a turbo that big to make them roll lol. 20lbs a piece before tires

I started to strip the paint off the hood. This paint has seen better days



I got half of the paint off the hood today before it started to get cloady.



next, I moved on to the trunk.



I cleaned up the trunk lid tray and sprayed a few coats of black hammer finish after the primer.



And a little teaser to show what 205/40/16 look like on a 10.

Lol I need a swimming pool full of coca cola and 1000lbs of sand blast media. This car has 90% of the rust gone since I replaced all the floors. The only rust left is the spare tire well. Hopefully I can stop spending so much time on fixing floors and more time on fenders and suspension.
