Not bad. I'd say pull the tank and install a fuel cell in the trunk so you can stay that low without damaging it.

Thats not a bad idea. the stock tank sits on a lip in the trunk floor. it can be lifted a inch or two if i need to...And i really should because its only going to cause me trouble where it is.Originally posted by NegativeCamber View PostNot bad. Challenge accepted. The pics are a little deceiving, there is more room than it looks like up there. I am probably going to grab a set of 205/40/16.Originally posted by Anonymoose View PostDefinitely will not be able to run as it sits now with tyres but keen to see how it turns out

So is a '74 or '76? The flares are looking good. Kind of a Group 2 thing going on

I have been making good progress every night. The rear fender took me 10 hours to complete. Floors got finished tonight and will be sealed tomorrow.
They ended up looking very similar to a group 2 fenders. They seem to be a little wider than group 2's and also they are all metal. Less bondo = more fun.Originally posted by deutschman View PostSo is a '74 or '76? The flares are looking good. Kind of a Group 2 thing going on

Recieved my front fenders today. I was thinking about making my own but the vw mk1 rear fenders look great and are only $25 a piece. They are going to need a good pull to get the width I need but should work fine.

there are a few small dings in the lips but i guess thats what you get for $25.

Found this jem tonight and had to buy a couple in different colors. I am almost positive im going with orange but my opinion changes every week.

And had to add some camber...

Ok, good. I thought I had a bad set of fenders. The rear fenders are very aggressive but I think the look will smooth out when they get molded into the body.Originally posted by CubbyChowder View PostThe little dimples in the MK1 fenders are normal for some reason. All of mine had them in the exact same spots. Those rears fenders look interesting, a little too radical for my taste but I'm sure they'll look cool. Keep it up!
Your front fenders were my inspiration.
