I kind of like the head room in the car, and that is really a bit too much work, for such little gain.. I have seen some of the cars done with roof chop, and most of them just dont quite look right.. There is on build out there, and that guy is doing what appears to be a perfect roof chop, but it also involves all new production glass..
I well I got the passenger side early grille in today, so the car doesnt look so lop sided now.. The grilles are just a bit rougher than I thought they were, but mostly soft bends, so I am hoping the plating shop can get them in perfect shape.. It was really worth the effort to use the early grilles, and it really wasnt that bad of a job to do, so do it if you can find some early grilles out there.. If anyone has as idea as to where I can come up with a nicer set to start out with, I would be interested in them..
I will have some updates on the Amazon Design Headlamps real soon, and they are coming out pretty trick, with the Turn/Park lamp made into the bottom of them..
Ha Ha... The sig doesnt mean what it sounds like, and I do get some flack from it, but it is actually from an old Twilight Zone episode... It must be a pretty cool one, because I have had serveral version of it hijacked in the past..
No no, I am referring to the ass gif from one of the posters.
Well other than getting distracted by that sig, this is a damn good build and at a good rate of progress!!

Fist of all, love your build. I have a question thou: where does the engine suck air from? Is it through the narrow holes near the windshield (where I suppose the original had air vents for interior ventilation)?
Or is it from somewhere in the engine bay (in which case, won't the engine suck in hot air)?
PS: mount the mirrors symetrically. It will look way better, plus, cars 25+ years back in some cases didn't even have mirrors on the passanger side.
The motor gets its air from the cowl vent/fresh air vent, and there is a filter built into the box at the back of the intake.. There will be a rubber gasket that seperates the intake from the firewall, and that will allow for the engine torque and motor insulation.
