How are you mirroring the grid?

The grid was created by taking measurements from key unchanged parts of the body. I simply have to take the same measurements on the other side. It actually doesn't even need to be as thoroughly marked. My contour gauge is 15" long, so if my end point falls on the same point as the grid, I now have checked the entire contour of the opposing grid line on the mirrored panel.

I have rough shaped the passenger side, and taken over 30 key measurements. Tomorrow I will basically be playing "sanding by numbers". haha Nothing picture worthy today, but I should have a decent update soon.

I've seen stuff like this done in person and it's amazing how easy people who know what theyre doing make it look and how incredibly hard it is to actually do. When I was ~12-13 years old I watched my dad build two quarter panels for my grandfathers 65 gto vert, this was before they made replacement panels. I watched him measure and weld and measure and weld and shape and fit and he made it seem so easy. Now that I'm 26 and have been been in the industry for a while I can put it in perspective of how skilled you need to be.

This is really really good craftsmanship. I always loved when fabricators do countless hours of work to make this amazing car but at the same time it looks as if it could be stock. Like if someone who has zero idea of what a TT is looks at it they'd just go oh it's low with big wheels.

Are you going to leave the quarter panels carbon fiber? I won't post a picture here, but if you google image search "Lexus IS Aimgain kit" you will see a VIP style kit that has a carbon fiber quarter panel, that in my opinion, looks awesome. Aggressive and classy.
Can't wait to see what else you do.

It's been a while since I touched this thing. I bought a 944, and was consumed with a suspension upgrade.

I started back on this thing on the 1st. My new year resolution is to "finish" it during the year.

I had to cut my brand new bumper...

The alignment is wildly off

Now the entire driver's side, other than hood had been roughed in. I need to get the passenger side to the same point soon. Once it has been modified, I will start finishing off the details of each portion of the car.

I also had a little fun with the 3dtuning app. I took the app's version I created, then used my note 4 to draw some front end changes. The hood had been extended, bumper changed under the headlights, and the lower portion of the bumper was reworked. Just figured I'd share.

What color is this?? .. is it a stock color? .. does it have any metallic in it? ... nice work on everything!!!

Hey man, glad to see some updates! I love the direction your taking with the vents/ skirts. The hood following the vent of the fender on the rear side of the wheels is such a sick touch. Can't wait to see more progress.
