Wide bagged '01 TT

Satisfied with the shape, I wrapped it with foil and made a 2" grid over it. The new quarter panel will be carbon fiber, so the foil is to allow the cured panel to release, and the grid is to allow me to make the passenger side an exact match.
I started the passenger side last night, so it is only a few steps past this, at the moment.
Expanding foam would have been better to use, but this foam is cheap, and I can grab it from the store. All of the foam will be removed once the carbon panel has been made.
Once the rears are done, I will get started on the fronts.

Progress pictures.
Paint removal.
Cut plans.
Cut and roughly placed
Did the same on the other side, then started filling in the gaps.
I am half way through the other sides filler pieces. The pictures will be posted a little later.

jesus that body work is above and beyond. I can't even imagine the time it took to do just the foam and grid. Inspirational stuff man! Awesome car! Are you painting the lips black again or going polished?Instagram : @SHMVNY_GVNG

I'm using the wheels as a reference for a dead flush fit, so I have to wait until I'm a little further along to have the lips coated.

I appreciate all the good words! It keeps my motivation high. Starting from 100% scratch on a large portion of a car is a whole new world for me. haha I am beyond picky about every detail, so the speed of the progress may not be the fastest. I'll be sure to update as it happens.Last edited by Forty-six and 2; 08-10-2014, 11:48 PM.
