I got her registered today, and took her for a little cruise.
I still haven't figured out my headlight/parking light issue yet, so it was a quick cruise into town to fuel up before the sun went down.

and that's awesome! good luck with the project!
My last Mercedes was a w108 as well, a 69 280s, before they started doing headrests and seat belts haha.
I actually took a picture of the finny at that same spot today.
Looks a lot different being stock height haha.
I took a good chrome polish to the hub caps and beauty rings today, got a lot of the surface rust out of them. Shined up well!
Also, we got the headlights working tonight and I took her for a real shake down drive.
about 40 mile round trip to a buddy's house. She ran flawlessly.
I really can't put into words the feeling you get when you've had a car torn completely apart, and busted your butt to get something done, then, after it's all been put back together, it runs smooth and does everything you hoped it'd do.
It's really such a rewarding feeling when your work pays off.
With that being said, I've been putting air things together
I've got everything I need, I think we're diving in head first Saturday morning! The Governors Club.

My buddy Bryan stopped by and shot some photos while we were in the shop.
Here are a couple random shots from the other day...
One with my rad, southern patina'd 79 C10 I moved home with from Nashville, she's a trooper.
A rolling shot with my buddy Eric in tow with his Studebaker Avanti. (which is an 82 Chevy powered Avanti, and may be next in line for bags)

Are you planning to cruise this down to H20? or better yet tow it with the old chevy.
I may have turned to the dark side and built a car on bags, but as long as it runs, Im still driving it to any destination I might have for it haha. The Governors Club.

Tedious work getting the camera turned into the switch box...
and done,
not shown is the one line harness we had lying around that had a group of 5 wires encased in it.
So within that one wire, I have my power into the camera, spliced to all four switches, and my 4 lines back out of the camera for my switches.
No mess, no taped up separate wires, just one clean line out of the camera.
It worked out well and this is my favorite part of the entire car.The Governors Club.
