Hope your Ford motor gives you less trouble than mine. On first start up mine decided to dump coolant from a heater fitting, and I discovered the seals in my oil cooler were shot.
A cam and a tune puts most 5.0s in the mid-300s, not sure what junk 5.0s you're looking at. Besides, the torque output of the 5.0 is gnarly compared to other engines in its' size range.
Hell under 10psi will give even a stock 5.0 the footwork for 400+.
While they are very underrated engines, they're also very choked engines from the factory. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if this new 306 hes' got churns out a healthy 300+ to the wheels.

I think we made the chevy guys mad...
At least the 5.0 swap is not a cookie cutter swap. It's just like all of those kids who think that they need those overpriced Beats headphones. Honestly? Like the LS swap, the beats are played out, overpriced, and do the same thing that much cheaper headphones do.
5.0 motors dont make dick for hp.. there are a ton of other motors you could have done.. a 5.0 motor makes 230hp thats weak
My engine made( I say made because I have a lower cfm carb) 374hp and 410 ft/lbs of torque. And thats with a non aggressive cam, forged pistons, bored a slight bit, and aluminum rocker arms. Keep in mind, that is on stock heads which is the biggest handicap on 5.0 motors.
Oh, and hp? What are we in grade school? Torque is what men care about

I do have to say, if one had the money, and lsx engine is theoretically a better swap.
Sounds like a bad ground. First try using a screwdriver to turn the starter. You know, illuminating any goofy wiring issues. If that doesn't work your motor is not grounded well enough (starter can't get a ground). Good luck, man!
Edit: ^^That guy has a good idea too, make sure your battery is charged!!
Thanks guys! Battery is charged, but I'm just remembering I forgot to swap the engine ground cables over from the different engines... Guess who feels stupid?
