i can tell you, engines dont really seize out of no where
Took engine out, separated from transmission, clutch plate/ pressure plate was completely broken off. Theres your problem. Regardless, a new engine now resides in its place!
Sucks about your engine bro.
I'm assuming your 5.0 will have a bit more power than the 160hp mustang wonder? I know these are super tunable...
The original one in there was a stock, fox body 302 HO motor. I now have a 306 with forged pistons, x303 cam(or similar), aluminum rocker arms and aluminum valve covers, along with an almost new Center Force stage 2 race clutch.
The original one in there was a stock, fox body 302 HO motor. I now have a 306 with forged pistons, x303 cam(or similar), aluminum rocker arms and aluminum valve covers, along with an almost new Center Force stage 2 race clutch. Oh, the numbers? It pulled 374hp and 407ft/lbs of torque last time it was dyno'd(this past winter). It was in a '67 fastback, owned by a very nice county police office. And the '67 beat his supercharged, 2006 5.0 in the quarter mile. My car weighs 1000lbs less than said fastback, soooo...
Sounds like this engine will be more fun anyways.
Excited to see this running. Videos will be mandatory.
What I'm starting with: 1991 5.0 Ho, bored to a 306. Forged pistons, cam'd(not sure of kind, but very lopey), aluminum rocker arms, aluminum valve covers, ARP head bolts and intake bolts, and Weiand single plain intake( for sale if anybody is interested) mated to the old T5 trans via a Center Force stage 2 clutch and flywheel.
The nice intake bolts, going to clean/ shine these up.
Intake off, looks very clean! And thankfully the gasket mating surface was pretty clean and smooth still.
1. Make your core support removable. It will make getting the engine and trans
in together so so so much easier.
2. Cut off your csb mounts from the get go. I'm using a 3" driveshaft and it was very close even before this current issue. So save yourself the headache and just chop em.
