Five- oh swap into an e30.

All this work to get a 5.0 in, and you use stock Explorer headers and a $30 AutoZone tachometer screwed to the dash?

I'll give you props on actually getting it in and running, but damn you really should focus on doing some cleanup work. That interior screams FnF Civic. The car was originally much nicer, it needs to be back at that level.

I'm not trying to be a dick bro, perhaps I could have said it differently. I'm not looking to patronize you, I'm just saying your car could be cleaner with a little extra effort. Ultimately its' your car and you do what you want with it.

I personally would have gone with a different tach, and put it in the dash where the stock one was. Hell, for about $100 you can get a tach adapter to let your stock gauge read properly with the V8. The pressure and temp gauges [I'm assuming that's what they are] could be put into the center console where your switches are. That's really the only thing I can see as a major issue, but then again, that's a personal opinion.

But, again, your car, do what you want with it. Fuck my opinions.

Well as for the tach, it was in there before, just in a different spot. So you can see why I'd rather reuse something than pay $100 on top of buying a new tach(the po replaced everything and couldn't figure it out). As for the gauges, They will be relocated at some point. That dash was already ruined, so I decided to run it for the time being. I have a few extra dashes that I'm going to flock, then have the center delete panel professional cut so it looks half decent and can hold all the gauges/ switches/ race car stuff. Ftiw, I wasn't offended, I'm just incredibly sarcastic

I didn't realize the car had all that work done beforehand, I figured you did everything. Guess that's what I get for not reading the entire thread!

Well I did the dash blank myself, but the dash itself had ~20 cracks in it, so I just made it work But yeah, never looked into the tach. I found threads from the PO asking about it, apparently he ended up replacing the whole thing and it still didn't work? I don't know.

I just have to say, you did really good on documenting the swap so far, i almost bought an e30 a while back to do this swap in, So now that you did it i may go back to that, This is a great build, cant wait to see it completed.

Got to love fixing the mistakes of previous owners. Trust me I know the pains of that one.

Most of it was done well, that just confused me. The axles were ruined it in, which we didn't find out until we drove it for a little while. He made up for it when I figured out he had the price I paid for the car into the suspension/ chassis/ bushings. That was a nice surprise.
