so i was wondering where my front coils were so i called up the company i ordered them from. Originally i was told they would be shipped out on the 20th but they told me today they ran out of seals and that they were going to be shipped out today...

alright i went down again today and figured i would finish the valve cover and the wheels and i was able to do both.

pulled the first batch of masking tape off so i could redo it for the lettering.

it took about 45 min to cut out the letters but the end result was worth it

then after some new red paint she is all done! turned out really well and i can't wait to see it bolted up to the motor but for now it is going to sit on my desk at work

and now for the wheels, here is a shot of what one looked like before paint.

and then a shot of the same wheel after paint. they basically all look factory fresh now. even if i don't end up running them it was fun bringing them back.

next up is the front suspension!

that was a mock up just on blocks the front suspension is out of it right now, and they are 4x100 i am going to be running 10mm all the way around most likely but that will be sorted once the car is on the ground and a final wheel choice has been made

If I am not mistaken those are 4x114.3? So you will need adapters? That should make them tuck a little less. I think they could look good though.

so those that know me well know that i like to do things differently, you can look at my old e36 as a good example of that. Frankly i enjoy when people think what i am going to do is crazy because it makes me want to pull things off even more.

thank being said i went down to the shop tonight for a bit of work even though my coilovers didn't show up (i was hoping but not expecting) and i am at a roadblock of sorts till they get here. i still didn't want to just sit at home so i went down anyway to see if the wheels looked good and here is what i got:

i think it looks pretty good and since i don't actually need to enlarge the center bore on them i decided to start cleaning them up for a better mock up. I got a lead on another set of wheels that i really want to we'll see what i actually end up doing.

I got one of the wheels cleaned and painted as well as the valve cover. i'll take pics of the valve cover tomorrow as wanted the paint to fully dry before i pulled the tape off.

it needs a bit of touch up and i might do the letters in red to match the valve cover. they are going to look BRAND NEW when i am done. i can't believe i was able to find a completely rash free set of these

    ding ding ding

so since i am planning on a nardi wheel i think i might get another euro plate made with "AXSPWRS" since it is a German car with japanese wheels and a italian steering wheel lol

i would get on that, they rust really really bad if they are not kept dry and they are getting few and far between

wasn't planning on going down to the shop yesterday but i had forgotten a part i needed to ship out today for Aron and it was SOOOOOOO nice out here in MN (holy shit the weather here is out of this world) i decided to stay down there and start to work on the valve cover.

so here is a pick of the new valve cover that is going on the motor, this is the valve cover that is supposed to go on this motor which i find a bit funny since it isn't a 2.4L anymore nor is it fuel injection... hehe

then i hit it with a scotch bright pad to clean it up a bit

then i sanded and polished the raised bars (saving showing that off till the pain goes on) and masked it off for paint. i am doing a wrinkle black with red lettering.

took it home with me so i could paint it during the week and then i'm going to put it on my desk at work till the motor is bolted in. (i am going to bolt a spare cover on while i get the motor in the car so i don't damage this one)

    stay tuned!
