Loved the way this thing sounds and looks! Saw you cruising several different times at h20 but didn't get a chance to meet you. Great job!

Thanks! I was at the convention center Friday and Saturday night. As surpising as it is for someone that owns a car as obnoxious as this Im a fairly low key person so I just kinda hung in the backround and watched reactions. Occasionally someone would want to talk to me so I'd come out from hiding. I wasn't even the one driving it down the strip most of the time haha.
I'm hoping someone got some good pictures this weekend, I have none of the car in it's updated state

Sick build. Is it a 305?.. just curious because you said you had intentions of going with a 350 in the future. You also say you have no intentions of going FI. Your pleased with the performance of the carburetor? I have a bored 350 (355) sitting right next to my e36, after blowing up the original M50 I purchased another M50 but I may consider dropping the 355 in after I chunk it again. This thread is absolutely inspiring.e46 Coupe-Daily Driver

It is a 305. The car was initially built basically with parts I had lying around and a running 305 was part of that. I'm not pleased with the performance at all yet, however with some adjustments I'm sure I can make suitable power. I built the car as w carbed v8 simply because you rarely see it, so this car will remain carbed. That doesn't mean I don't have intentions of an fi chevy v8 once this car is done... It'll just be a completely separate project.
After the long trip there are Many drivability issues to address, starting with a new driveshaft. I'd like the car to drive like a normal e36, and it's just not quite there yet..although it did prove itself very reliable this weekend.
As for someone else doing the swap I'll gladly give any advice. It's far more work than you'd expect. But the end result sure is fun

awesome build man, i thought a 305 would throw out a bit more power than the bimmer engine.
and just another thing, dunno if anyone's pointed it out to you yet, but the euro style plates you had on it, errrr well its good there was a space in between th F and the A lol

I'm not impressed with the 305 at all. It makes noise and does burnouts which is cool and all, but a more powerful small block will be installed in time for sure.
I knew the plate said "fag" It gave us some lolz. The new plate translates to fat pants or something like that, just a plate we had lying around but it's also lolz worthy.
