A different manifold in general might help, I have no intentions of making this car fi though.
The engine cannot sit any lower though. The oil pan rests just barely above the front structure of the car (steering rack etc). So, dropping the engine lower would create another mess of issues.
When we replace the engine with the 350 I may try other manifold/ carb setups to get it under the hood, but right now were stuck with what we've got.

Maybe a little hump in the hood like DSM's and other cars have to clean the motor?Originally posted by Fazda View PostA different manifold in general might help, I have no intentions of making this car fi though.

That's probably what it'll wind up being, it's just barely too tall now so a little bump would be perfect. Just trying to find the "right" bump/scoop to go with.Originally posted by benz88 View PostMaybe a little hump in the hood like DSM's and other cars have to clean the motor?

tunnel ram and 2 carbs? That would solve your problems. lolOriginally posted by Fazda View PostA different manifold in general might help, I have no intentions of making this car fi though.

Seriously, I wonder what a z28 style hood would look like on an e36?
