ummm?? You had a 240 axle before right? and when you now put on a 740 axle is going to be much wider. Or am i missing something here?

Thats right! the 740 axle is 10,5 cm wider then the 240 axle!

Holy shit, that looks like a machine welded it. Nicely done, especially with the amount of rust on the bracket.


I'm really loving this project, however every time I see a picture of the wheels it kills my boner. With the amount of quality work going into this project, the wheels just look cheap and out of place.

hehe, good welder does the trick! i have a 500 Amp mig welder, and its fantastic to weld with! (but huge) yea, its a litle rust on the bracket, but its 6mm thick so it wont mather.. cant see it anyway when the axel is sandblasted and powdercoated!


and the wheels are staying :P cant agree on everything! but it wont be the only set of wheels

The 740 axel is done! started cleaning it now, sandblasting! hope to get it powdercoated this week..

I would never have thought about using a 700-series axle ... nice touch. Looks good so far.
