    what's a vac booster?
generally most cars have power brakes. Most brake boosters run off vacuum from the intake manifold with a one way check valve. bigger trucks and early audi's(i am sure there are other oems doing this) used the power steering pump pressure to act for power brakes with a mini 90bar nitrogen tank. The advantages of hydro assist is it always works...meaning under boost you can left foot brake and keep your right on the throttle to build boost going into corners. this way when you let off the brake...boost takes you for a ride out of the corner. audi turbo racing 101 . vac power brakes in boost do not work since the one way check valve keeps boost pressure out of the vacuum booster preventing damage.

brake master spacer - cq hydro booster - urs4 hydro booster - 80q vac booster

in this pic you can see the round 90bar "brake bomb"
