Your fabrication skills will keep me interested in this thread regardless of the final result.

Sounds like you've nutted it out, so I shall await to see the final product before I judge it.Originally posted by mtm_motors View Postas tall as I am I don't think I'll be able to get the A pillars that short...
B pillar brace will probably stay. I fit a factory seat in and it seemed ok, but I will be going to something else and mounted quite a bit lower
thanks, and I hope my thought process is right... lol
As said, has a huge amount of potential, hopefully you make me eat my doubts

body is square enough to not affect drive quality...Originally posted by 1badg35 View Postgreat work so far. did you check the body to make sure it was square first before starting this build? I wouldnt want to see a car that is undrivable cause its frame was tweaked after lots of work.
I did drive it a bit after the wreck
as tall as I am I don't think I'll be able to get the A pillars that short...Originally posted by Oxer View PostI suggest you dont take too much out of the a pillars... going by that photoshop, it will have too much fail.
Also, that brace between the b pillars is only temporary right? cause you arent going to get front seats in there comfortably...
Has the potential to be epic, but needs the right thought process to complete the vision.

Chopped!
Well, I got in several hours of work today!
First I ran a bead across the top of my rear brace. The MIG wasn't cooperating so I wound up doing it with the torch lol...

made up a longitudinal brace and fishmouthed one end

fits pretty well!

welded...

uh oh, that doesn't look right...

the point of no return

... and I have some extra metal to take to the scrap yard!
Thats all for today.

on it!Originally posted by jared1988 View Postlol looks like you already got the know how to do all of it so make it happen!
project is on a major budget, so that's how it will start out...Originally posted by Stephen View PostDo it. Dont rat the final product though, make it like the vintage tonneau covered roadsters of the past. Also the lines are going to have to be dead on for it to work i think.
Still, excited to see the result
who knows what it will evolve into!
that is definitely in the works!Originally posted by JasperThomas View PostWhat about a targa/'spyder' top?
I was thinking soft-top a-la Boxster Spyder top originally...
a hardtop would be pretty easy with the roll bar idea though
Thanks!Originally posted by bev0 View Postepicness lurks here...subscribed..good luck with the build
