New oil pickup since my other one was trashed from the last broken pan.
Got the compressor housing polished since I got it in pretty rough shape.
Also got my Integrated Engineering crankcase breather AN adapter.
Mocked it up to see what its gonna look like and make sure the 44mm wg wont have any clearance issues since the manifold was originally designed for a 38mm
Setting timing
Got the fuel rail polished too, left my fuel rail spacers at home though. *I fucking **** these injectors.
Final shot of the day, got most of the accessories on too. *I can't wait to drive this thing.
Got the valve cover back from hot tanking. *Made sure timing was perfect and put everything on. *Then I had to modify the upper coolant pipe to clear the fuel rail
Had to cut off the engine cover mounting tab and smooth it, cut off the expansion tank hose and welded on an AN fitting where I'm going to put a bleeder to help with filling.
Hard to see but I removed the line on the front of the tube for the turbo water line and welded it shut, then added another AN bung on the back by the coolant flange to run the line around the back of the motor. *Also mounted the turbo and the wastegate.
Made an oil return line flange to mount to the pan
Mounted the transmission and figured out all the AN fittings I need to complete the motor, ordered all that shit, should be here tomorrow. *So this is where I left off
Alright, so my first attempt at deleting all the vacuum lines and check valves and PCV was using stock tubing and cheap connectors, so it wasn't very pretty and pissed oil everywhere. My AN fittings arrived on Monday
All black, and ordered a bunch of black braided hose too to keep with the black and polished theme. First order of business was PCV. Basically did the same thing I had before but much prettier and more hidden.
Block breather
T'd that, upper hose runs to the valve cover, lower hose dumps out by the oil pan.
Here you can see the valve cover end. You can also see the AN fitting added to the back of the coolant pipe to route to the turbo around the back of the engine. It's not connected properly in that picture, there will be less slack.
Gonna find a clamp to secure this so its not swinging around while driving
This is the coolant line that comes from the coolant pipe, its the return line. Feed line comes from the block.
Also got a black FPR to keep with the theme.
Gonna mount this on the firewall. Hopefully car gets towed back to the shop today so I can keep working on it.
