I have already realized that I am going to need to buy a farm to keep all the cars I want. I currently have 2, my Jetta (daily) and my 73' Mercedes 280SE. I really want to build something fast and rwd next, possibly an old volvo wagon with a t5. I'd love an air cooled porsche or a beetle and I really want a vanagon/eurovan to cruise around in.

In reply to this thread, I gotta say I like to have at least 2 cars. It keeps things and from getting boring. And one drift car and one vip car is the perfect balance for me
What I can't wrap my head around EVER is why some people get fixated on one chassis and start hoarding them instead of getting something different. Cool man you have 14 e30s. Congratulations

i have had an e39 for 3 years now. I love this car a lot, it's my daily, my project car etc, but some time ago a thread was started here for the bmw e38, i liked those cars so much i bought one. it was a case of don't meet your heroes for me so i've been trying to sell it but god damn economy, nobody wants a big body shit box anymore...
so thank you stanceworks for making me waste my money

Ever since I got my licence in '07 I've only ever owned one car at a time, which was also my project at the same time. From 07 to 08 it was a Mk3 golf, from 08 to 09 it was a E36 sedan and from 09 until today my E36 Touring.
I owned a few others also, but only bought them to flip 'em so they don't count really.
Last november I finally was able to buy a second car - a E34 which is now my daily. The E36 now only gets pulled out in nice weather. It's definitely better to have a car you can fall back on in case of one being broken or something, and it enables me to tackle bigger projects on one car at a time. Tho, if I had to go back to one car again, I'd want one car to do it all... I know exactly what car that's be. An E34 M5 Touring.
Owning multiple cars here in Germany isn't cheap. Insurance is a bitch and taxes on older cars can get stupidly high...

Man, I'm embarrassed admit how many cars I actually currently own. I don't have the newest or hottest cars like a lot of you guys. But I can say that all my cars are paid for. I've bought several running cars for what some people spend on their monthly car payment.
Craiglist junkie+dealers licence+car guy=car hoarding problem
I see no brainer deals and jump on them. I daily a $300 car that gets 38mpg and I've driven it over 100K miles. I average 3000 miles a week if I decide to bust my ass and make some money.
I've bought "wheels" that I was looking for and the rest of the car came with it. Same thing with radios and motors.
I have a problem.

I've had two (not including my wifes car) for the last 5 years. A daily driver/company car and then my Focus. While I have only one project car, I couldn't go back to having one car ever again. But now I have my Focus and my wife has a SVT, I have 1 1/2 projects lol.
