  • How can anyone own just one car at a time?

I am a car whore, through and true, always will be. I've owned just shy of around 100 cars in the last 17 years and feel like I've just brushed the surface of what I want to have owned in my life...and they just keep making more cars to lust after!

I just found out that I may be loosing my garage and place to store my cars, and cannot afford to find a suitible replacement for what I have now, so its time to start downsizing. I had five cars last month, now down to four. I've got another two cars pre-sold with payment pending, that leaves two. Two! But I need a winter car, so that will bump it back to three. And that's kind of where I think I am stuck. Even three cars is hard, and what if I find a really good deal on something I've always wanted? ....It happens all the time.

I hear of people that own only one car, how is that even possible? Anyone else have a car addiction?

I own one now, no reason for me to own more at this point because I'm only driving 3 months out of the year. After school I do plan on owning a "collection" though

not everyone likes to have an unnecessary amount of vehicles. my mom has around 10 assorted vehicles as well as a bunch of random vehicles, antique Ford, jeep, 2 mini-vans, blazer and a few trucks. its completely useless, she only really drives her X5 or the mini-van, sometimes the truck if they are going boating and need to tow.

i had multiple e30's a few years back and its completely stupid. there is no legitimate reason to have so many cars.

I just don't have money for 2 cars. I sure would love to have a beater that I could drive in the winter and when I am working on my car, but that is not affordable at this time. I'm 22 and commute to college full time, work part time, have rent, gas, car payment, insurance, cable, and all that other crap every month that kills my car budget.

Its my last year in college and I am looking for job right now. I sure would like to get a decent job in my field next summer, and hopefully in a year have a beater car.

I'd like to know how people in their late teens/early 20's have had 10+ cars and say they have paid for them all on their own. I work my ass off (30-60 hours depending on school) and have a hard enough time keeping up with one car. lol

imo, it is not possible to have a real project car without a DD.. I have been doing so for probably 9 or so years like this. the DD keeps changing every year or two, but the Z has and will always be the never ending project. wouldnt have it any other way.

funny thing is that my choice in DD has gone up significantly in the past few years and is currently more powerful then the project. back in the day 1997 maxima when i was 16, 2002 maxima, 2004 g35 coupe, 2002 Audi TT225, now 2005 Audi S4. not sure what i can go to next as an upgrade. i do have my eyes set on a current m5, but cant afford that on my salary at 25

its common for me to drive two or three different cars in one day, depending on where I'm going or how I'm feeling, then there's always the current broken down project. Is it necessary, no, but its what I enjoy. All my cars are paid for in full with cash and even working only part time I can afford to modify and maintane all my cars, sometimes my budget is just less.

I own one car, because that's what I can afford.
