    • My APCs are seriously falling apart. I need to get a new pair of jeans.

      • So, I eBay'd myself a pair of Academi Love Japan jeans, and they came in yesterday. First, I have to say that I bought them for the price and size (28/32, not that common). But...

Wow. The fit is incredible. The stiffness of the denim is weird, especially to feel it against my legs since it's less than 'relaxed' fit (no, they're not skinny jeans), but not as unpleasant as some people have reported. Would I prefer to find a set of washed Levi's off the rack for the same price? So far, yes, but these are a nice pair and we'll see how they hold up. Very dark dye, should age nicely if the construction lasts.

              • So I am bumping this thread.

I have been working on my Levi's STF 501s for the past year and they turned out okay, The wiskers and honeycombs are as prominent as I would like them to be which I found out how to fix.

Though heres what I just got. American Eagle Raw and Selvedge denim. Now I know that phrase sounds all sorts of whack but for the price I paid per pair they cant be denied. A whopping 23.99 a pair after coupons and sales(gotta be thrifty)

This pair is both raw and selvedge.

This pair is a light weight pair.

This next pair is just raw but not selvedge

This tag was on both of them

The selvedge ones yes. The other I can say that they are. Have the same looks and feel as my 501 stf before wear.

I am not sure if they are sanforized or not but I will treat them as not.

Here is a good place to get info and tips

Heddels is the leading destination for those seeking to understand and find well-made, enduring denim, footwear, and other clothing that improves with wear.

I just starched my 501s as I didnt like the way they were fading, and I washed them 2 to many times being impatient

                    • I now know the second pair I posted is raw. Just did a sitting hot soak. The amount of dye that was in the tub after was unreal. These are going to have some good honeycombs
