                    How did the pad even stay in there then? Unless you don't take the caliper off when you replace your pads?

                              Of course it will stay in. Pads have the compound side, and the metal side which is what the piston pushes against. I put the compound side facing the piston, so the metal side was scraping against the rotor. Just fixed it now, but now its like the pad is scraping against sand paper, so it probably wont last long. Oh well, new brakes soon i guess.

                                So that means you put all the brake grease and such on the compound side, that must have been wonderful to get off of there.
