  • Driving home on the last day of winter semester 2010 I was cruising to my parents place on Highway 4 in Concord, CA. I was probably doing about 65mph, not going hella fast or anything. Two guys in a 5.0 Fox slowly passed me and the passenger took either video or photos on his phone for a good 3-4 minutes. It That was cool.

I was taking my GF out to ice cream a couple of weeks back on a Sunday night. Pulled into a parking spot across the street from the restaurant, got out of the car, and noticed that a car was creeping passed. Passenger gave me a thumbs up and they drove away.

Those are pretty much my only two stories relating to my car, I guess I have some work to do LOL.

Each and every time that I am riding in my friend's '68 Charger, we get so many stares and thumbs up. The car:

    • In my old Volvo (99 S80) I had it lowered on some 18" Enkeis (noob mistake), but I drove past this local independent Volvo shop and proceeded to see pretty much all of the techs come running over to the open doors and just stand there as I sat in traffic then rolled off. I was bangin some Mike Jones with 3" straight pipe and probably scraped some ground as i turned the corner. I lol'd.

          • Back from the dead! (Discovered this trying to find out why Vegas got banned... Found at least part of my answer.)

Driving down to H20i 2011, I passed a big Italian guy in a GS400 and happened to downshift on my way by as we approached traffic. As it clears, I see the GS come flying up behind me and get in the passing lane. As he passes slowly by, the driver was giving me an emphatic thumbs-up and yelling to me "SHIT'S FUCKIN' HOT, BRO! THAT LOOKS NICE!!!" I dropped to 3rd at about 60 and took off for him for a short bit and slowed back down. As he went back by, I saw his thumb up out the sunroof.

Just after I lowered the car, I took it to the Ocean Beach Car Show here in CT. As I was stopped at a light, three big, inked guys walk up the sidewalk and stop next to my car. I was in a rough area, so I got a bit nervous with the windows down. One of them says to the others "shit looks dope for a Focus" and they just walk away. I was pretty pumped.

At H20i 2011, I was following Cosworthed in his grey Focus ZX3 on DPEs through the outcast meet at the Convention Center. I hear a chick yelling to her boyfriend "THEY'RE FOCUSES? THOSE ARE FUCKING FOCUSES? NO WAY!!!"

                • I'll play given that this has been resurrected...

My girlfriend is riding her big motor, open header hayabusa home from lunch with me one afternoon. I get a call about 20 minutes later, assuming it's her letting me know that she got home fine. Instead, I answer and she's hyped. She was stopped making a left turn on this tiny two lane road. The guy driving the F350 in the opposite lane was paying so much attention to her rather than the road that he managed to run into the dump truck that was stopped in his lane at 35 mph! She wasn't hurt, because he had driven past her and was still looking. Thankfully, not a literal broken neck.

It's not the first time we've caused a fender bender, but definitely a first for a full speed accident.

                    • I get pictures on the freeway quite often.
I find some of the videos/pictures people take of my car on the city streets/freeway on Tumblr sometimes lol.
All of the kids love my car. I had a little boy walking down the street stop from walking drop his jaw along with his lollipop on the ground and just stared at my car pass by.
I feel like pedobear even though I'm still a minor.

Roughly two weeks ago, we (I and a few other E36 drivers) met up to 'celebrate' the end of the season, with a small trip to a few local sights and stuff.

Drove a short part on the Autobahn, going slowly in the right lane, my Touring on the BBS leading the pack. Suddenly a slammed E30 'vert on some wide RHs comes flying up besides us, two guys in their thirties inside, both absolutely grinning and looking at our line of E36s. As they pass my Touring, the passengers eyes get impossibly wide, he opens the window and throws out a thumbs up. Felt good. And I returned a thumbs up, since that E30 was hot.

And a short while later, we're passing through a small town. A street, where everyone parks at the side of the road... some guy is unloading his groceries from his car. He hears the loud exhausts from some of our group, turns around, stares at my Touring slack jawed and actually drops some of his groceries on the ground

                          • I don't feel like typing out a story, so I'll leave this.

Pulled into school last semester, parked the car, and saw this guy walk up take a photo, and give me a thumbs up walking away. I lol'd.

Also, I had to drive my car hoodless to work (~40 minutes away through heavy traffic) because I was picking up a carbon fiber hood when I got out. I lost count of how many people swerved in their lane when I pulled along side them. This was when I only had a Hytech header, cat, 2" of pipe, and a straight-through resonator. Ah... fond memories.

If you've never driven without a hood, and have a clean engine bay- do it.
