The first time I just quit cold turkey to save more money to put into my car....started back up after a bad mission one day in iraq....got back and quit again cold turkey(for the car again). I smoke when Im waisted and thats about it(Never buy my own packs though so that helps alot). So I guess what im saying is just cold turkey with a goal in mind.

Lolly pops helped me a lot when the habits (driving, coffee, ect) made me want one. Chantix helped with the cravings/actually needing one. Dad has been smoking for since I can remember and quit thanksgiving with the gum.

My doctor prescribed for me a anti depressant drug called Zyban

got a dose for 30 days, only used for about 20. on the seventh day a cigarette was so discusting to my, wow it was unbelievable. havent wanted a smoke for 3 years now.

smoked for 6 years before this

ps. a pack of smokes in iceland after the currency crysis and all the taxes that have been raised since, costs 8 dollars 26 cents, i just cant believe anyone wants to smoke regular tobacco for this kind of cash nowadays

i never really got addicted to cigs, i started somkin blacks when i was like 16(once in a great while) and then slowly moved into cigs, shit i still rember the exact day and what i was doing when i stopped getting a buzz off smoking. i started smoking more when i was workin as a brake/suspension tech at a local shop when i was 16, it was the only way to get a break, to smoke a cig and have some strong ass coffee. left that spot and stopped smoking at work. now i only smoke when im kickin it, which is nice on the wallet. im prolly sittin on maybe 2 packs a month, prolly a little less. its just become a social thing for me at car meets, bbq's and bonfires. when i was younger, i was reaaally shy (still am, just less so) and used it as an icebreaker when around ppl i didnt know and so i wasent just standing there doing nothing... i guess im just rtying to rationalize but whatever.

well your body is craving a form of sustinance and pattern that cigarettes provide. The human body takes 21 days for a "cycle" so try changing everything in your normal routine for at least one cycle and see if that helps. Also there is something called Tamarac root that can help you ween off of cigarettes

True, but go to a different gas station and walk or run, to break your routine and change your mental patterns to change your cravings
