My wife quit using a patch. She got it from the local "rite aid". Its called Nicotine transdermal system.
She used to smoke almost 2 packs a day. She started the patch Jan 1st, had half a smoke on the 5th and put it out because she couldnt stand the taste. Now all she bitches about is how other people smell like cig smoke. She tried the pill a few years ago and it gave her bad dreams. Seems the patch did the trick. It is true that you got to want to quit smoking, not because someone tells you to. I never smoked, Glad I never started either. But if you decide to, good luck and whatever you do I hope it works.

I need to quit. If I had quit a long time ago, I could have coils and wheels by now, even going to college. It's just so damn hard. Even the thought of quitting seems like it would make my days unbearable.
Good luck to all of you quitting, I'll probably post for some support when I decide the time is right.

The hardest time for me was when I was driving as others said. I started to buy Mentos or Mike and Ike candy. It's the same motion as bringing a smoke up. The mentos was even able to be held like one. It help enormously. Especially the mint ones if you're a "menthol" guy. I went 4 months completely void of them all together. Mentos, coffee, push ups, chewing on a plastic bottle cap all worked amazing. And I just flat out refused to buy them. That was it. That was July 22, 2010. I'm doing very well still. I'll have one when I'm out drinking now and again, but I do not have any sort of habitual habit to it any longer. I'll have one or two a month while out. I hope that helpsDerek H.

Smoked and Chewed for about 9 years. Quit last July, Nicorette helped me. I had "quit" a few times before but usually one or the other, quit smoking keep chewing or vise versa. This time I quit both and haven't gone back.
