This should be a regional poll, not a brand one IMO.
I see so many sick ass stanced cars here in socal, I'm definitely spoiled. Whenever I go other places it seems like there just isn't as much of a stance scene and people don't appreciate rolling low and hard like a lot of the guys here do.
I get people in ALL kinds of cars commenting on my car at stoplights and such. I've driven it up to norcal once or twice and all I seemed to get was Honda ricers trying to race me and people looking at me like I'm Paul Walker about to tear the shit out of their streets

i think its impossible to say where this shit started, none of us have a fucking clue, its all speculation or shit you heard from someone or read on the internet, so i think we can throw those discussions out the window
BUT, the reason i voted VW is because the majority of owners who modify them know and play with offsets and shit and try to get a good stance from the car, more so than any other vehicle brand I know. Then again, all i have to go by is what i see here, in the US, it could be different in other countries. But in the fuckin U S of A, VW is holding it down.
I joined the vortex when i was 14 and started checking out cars and shit, there were some cars i happened to like better, but i had no idea why, and then i started to learn about fitment and tire stretch and offsets and i just got it, and now i cant own a car without obsessing over tire size and offset.

as a whole, US is killing it i reckon, vw, vip, usdm... anything coming outta the states just has so much style, fitment and stance is constantly being pushed further and further, wheel coulours, paint schemes, engine bay shaving and wire tucks, i know these are staples of the euro and vw tuning scene and have been around for years, but the US guys taking it and using it on the different platforms etc is just so fresh, lovin all of it...

I'd say it started with the VIP platform cars but then the origin of VIP also stems from German Luxury influences i THINK. the crazy fitment could have very well been a Japanese influence but we may never know. Tire stretch was spawned out of necessity then folks just so happened to take it to another level over the years. as for who is "Doing Work" in the scene these days... as Royal_T stated the "JDM" boys or Honda owners are pushing the envelope more than ever! Sure dubbers have been doing it but as DubMd stated most Euros come stock with flares and arches so its not that uncommon to fill them up with fitment goodness. But it's more of a task with Hondas, Toyotas, and Nissans, & Mazdas. Even i laugh when saying this but... The Jap sport compacts actually have to REALLY do homework. We havent always had Blueprints as my good friend JITB would say.Last edited by Dirty Octopus; 03-04-2010, 07:35 AM.

VWs have been doing it forever, VIP guys for a long time, and the 240/drift guys had it down years ago too. It's very recently trickled down to other marques and types of cars and became the 'it' thing to do
