Well worked on it some more tonight, and guess what I found.

          More rust, on the floorboard.

It almost looks like a bad repair job.

Oh well just more work to do.

After finding that I cleaned up the rust toward the front of the rocker.

Then cleaned up the bottom side of the rocker.

Tomorrow Ill probably take it of the jacks and work on the other side.

So tonight decided to get started on the driver side rocker. Guess what I found........ yup rust.

Then noticed something a little odd on the door....

Yep Bondo and lots of it..... so that had to go.

Found some more on the rear quarter, and did what needed to be done.

And finally prepped some more areas Im going to weld on.

Oh yeah, its starting to look like a real project car.

I feel like I should start prepping the Bav to try and make you feel better. That rust is really not that bad. You'll mash it out.

                    Mr. Belvedere

I want to buy your single 4x100 Ronal Racing center

You are more than welcome to fly out for the weekend and do some welding........ That would make me feel alot better, haha.

                      Boring semi update today.

                      11/17/2009

A little bored today so I decided to try something. I have never been a fan of the wood grain around the cluster.

So I took apart an old broken one I have laying around.

                      Starting the template.

                      About halfway done.

Almost there need some more trimming.

I have never tried anything like this before and I know teasers suck. If I can make this work I will get some more pics up later.

So transferred the pattern over to aluminum. Cut it out and sanded down the edges a bit, then started on cutting out the gauges. Drilled a few holes so I could get the snips in.

The got out the nippers to clean it up a bit.

All three cut out, cleaned up, and sanded almost to where I need them.

Then drilled out the holes for trip reset and brake light, and cleaned them up with the nippers.

Still need to do some sanding to get it to fit how I want, then on to working on the finish of the plate.

                            Test fitted.

The drilled out the holes for the brake light and trip reset. After having it get caught on the bit last night and about 30 minutes of fixing the bends in it I made sure it wasnt going anywhere.

Then some more sanding and fitting and sanding and fitting and well you get the point.

Now I just need to decide how to finish it. Im thinking something like this.

                              • I promise this is the last gauge cluster update.

                                11/19/2009

So pulled out the cluster that I am going to used in the car, and took it apart to clean it. A coat of primer on the rings that hold the glass in.

While those were drying cleaned up the gauges.

Then a coat of semi glass on the rings.

All back together, and very very clean.

And finally with the bezel I made.

Check out those super low original miles.
