My steering wheel should arrive today or tomorrow, SUPEREXCITE!!

I also have a work Christmas party this weekend, so there is a chance that my productivity for the weekend would be pretty low

SO, had an awesome weekend and got some stuff done... but not on my car...

Went to the beach on Sat to soak up the sun and then went to a house party, so the productivity rate for the weekend started off with a nice fat Zero.
But on Sunday I went down to a mate's shed for some car play. Another few friends were down there as well, one of which brought along his SC400 he scored for cheap that has had an encounter with a pole in the rear quarter, which had bent the chassis and made the car crab walk. The rear quarter was hammered out and some Work Meisters were fitted for some LOLs, the specs were a silly 18x10 +25 front and 18x12 0 rear. The amount of poke on the rear was rather stupid, so a set of very large pliers was used to flare the guards. No fucks were given about the car body as it was meant to be scrapped and the driveline to find a new home inside a Nissan/Datsun Bluebird.
I practiced some welding on some sheet steel we cut out of an R33 Skyline roof. The gasless MIG wire was pretty shit, but it was the only wire my mate had, so i'll bring some Gas wire next time as he already has a gas bottle.
We then went and flipped the R33, so we could easily remove the subframes and suspension from the car. And I converted the rear knuckles on the S13 4-5 stud.
Another friend rocked up with a VN Commodore he swapped out for a blown S13. But it was not an ordinary V6 Buick 3.8L that the Commodores come with... well it was but it had a dodgiest looking turbo set up slapped on the side. He was having a problem with the exhaust leaking out of the flex joint leading into the turbo, as the joint looked to have blown out at the edges where it joint the metal. So I got some more welding practice welding it all. I could not weld the whole way around due to the pipe still being on the car and no way to get good access, but even with a weld half way around the leak was reduced substantially. Actually it has reduced so much, that when he took it for a spin, he got scared with how much power the car actually had.
We then had a BBQ and I welded my first diff.
Afterwards we went to pick up another S13 shell, which we assembled on the side of the road with suspension and wheels that we brought with us, to make it rolling and push it onto the trailer.
As we got back to the shed we had some slurpies and another BBQ sesh.
We then threw the welded diff into the S13 we were working on before and added some 5 bolt half shafts from the R33 subframe we stripped.

So the Sunday ended up pretty productive, I just need to do some more welding practice before I'm confident in tackling the 260Z with a MIG.
