Its MUCH more space than I had at my old house. Once the house is in order, yard taken care of, and wife and I have new daily drivers (she needs a bigger one and im STILL fighting Subaru on my brz) money will get allocated to close in the garage, lift the roof height on the left side and insulate and AC it. Hoping to start that in about a years time. Obviously the sooner the better.

Love the space, looks like an enjoyable place to wrench honestly. Here in AZ, I'd almost prefer a semi-enclosed space like you have, so heat has a chance to vent. I knew a guy who had a full enclosed RV garage, and in the summer it became a complete oven. Borderline unusable when it's 120 out and there is zero airflow inside his concrete box.
Looking forward to seeing progress on the Mustang now that you have it back!

Got the lights all wired up, crudly I might add. Purely temporary so am able to get some work done. These suckers are BRIGHT. So much more light to work with now. Hoping to get back to work on her next week. Dad will be out of town so ill borrow his truck to get the motor setup and welders home. Currently don't have any 220V in the garage, but the TIG works off 110v so that will sustain me for a good while until I NEED to mig something.

Bit of an update on the mustang. Pretty much haven't touched it since the last update. In that time span we have had 2 different contracts for the sale of our house, for them both to fall through. We had a showing yesterday and they insinuated they would be putting in an offer as well. Will see how goes. So obviously by that info you can tell i havent had much time for the cars. And now with the holidays coming up quick they definately wont be touched until after the first of the year.
This past saturday we brough home the 56' and stuffed it in the garage. As i alluded to before that meant pulling the mustang out. Shes now wrapped up and stored at the shop till further notice on the house. I simply ran out of time and wasnt able to throw primer on all the bare bars OR finish the welding i had wanted to. SO i wrapped the engine bay in some crash wrap we have at the shop best we could and parked it out back. Will simply have to remove the rust once its back at a location i can work on it.
A bit of good news tho. We have a predicated offer on a home that's 5mins from my work. And the real good news is that it currently has a 21x48 rv covered storage in the backyard. PERFECT for an oversized garage. Initially i was going to close it in as is, but after looking at in over the last few house viewings some of the wooden post have deteriorated and doesn't look the sturdiest. So for a while ill be using the space as is, a 1/3 enclosed and covered work area. After fixing some things around on the new house and savings up some cash we will erect a new, better structure. My friends have already started claiming spots in the new garage area....

Yeah, she will move quite a bit. Desperatley trying to hide that fact in the outward appearance. The intak came with a fabrication flaneg which i will likely use to make my own upper plenum that is shorter and will fit under a stock hood.Originally posted by bwwaaaa View Postheavy breathing
Love that shot, moving all the air in this car for sure haha. Shame the chassis is going away for a bit, but definitely understandable. The '56 is sweet, hope to see more of that in the future as well.
I did those same calculations. As bad ass as that would be. ( and HILARIOUS) the 56 just has simple plans.Originally posted by MikeyRa View PostHey, so I did some calculations and this engine setup should just bolt right in and fire up in the '56...
Holley EFI conversion, drop in cam, MAYBE a set of heads, intake, new headers and full exhaust. It currently sounds like an old log truck (mainly because its the same motor they had lol) with the lake pipes open. just want to give it some more get up and go. LIke to be able to reach 400whp range. Id love to do some air ride on it, but an minimum it will get just lowered. Will have to look at the chassis and see how accomodating it will be. Being an "heirloom" of sorts i do not wanting to majorly alter the chassis in any way from its original state.
Lol not at all, its about as strong as a wet rope.Originally posted by Quillhill36 View PostAs awesome as that'd be, I have some doubts on the chassis being able to support that much power...
Yeah i agree, **** to hault progress on it but its for bigger and better things, literally. The 56' coming home and hopefully soon the aquisition of hour new house with space for a larger garage to house all these projects haha.Originally posted by white out View PostSucks about the Mustang build, but overall that's badass. Found a sweet deal on a Hi-ram intake the other day. It also came with an Fab flange ready to go incase I decide o go the route of jabbing my open plenum, which may to get it to clear an stock style hood. Desperately trying to as to keep it "under the radar" as much as possible, better aero, and imo better looks given the style im going for. The stock plenum is about 2'' above the fender line. I know the stock hood has minimal arch from fender to fender span but I do not believe it to be enough.

After mocking up the intake I started to tear down the front end to prepare it for storage. Pulled the front sheetmetal off. Pulled the motor and trans out. Ive got a bit of welding left to do and I want to clean the tube front and throw some paint on it to prevent it from rusting while it sits.
